Hawaiian Getaway
Through the generosity of alumnus Dr. Ming Chen, residents have
been given the opportunity to spend a week in Honolulu to conduct
a research project and have exposure to LenSx phacoemusification.
Pathology Webinar
The program has added a monthly webinar with Deepak Edward
to supplement resident education on ophthalmic pathology
Welcome New Hires
MOHAMMED ADENWALLA, who
completed a vitreoretinal fellowship at
the University of British Columbia, is
now working part-time as a volunteer
KENYA WILLIAMS , who completed
an oculoplastics fellowship at Allegheny
General Hospital, is now on staff two
days a week
County Case Files
A 39 year-old white male with no significant past
medical history except alcohol abuse presented with
complaints of 2 months of painless vision loss OU. He
had been given 20 mg of prednisone TID by an outside
ophthalmologist but was lost to follow-up. He had
significant bilateral epithelial defects on presentation and
on day two presented with a corneal perforation OS as
seen in the photo to the left.
