The microprocessor based design enables full configuration with Windows based software. The T121 accepts 2-wire, 3-wire, or 4-wire RTD, thermocouple, potentiometer or millivolt input types. The T121 has a 4-20 mA, 2-wire transmitter output. The T121 drops 7 V (from a typical 24 V dc powered current loop) to power its electronics and provide the linear current output. All input range parameters are easily configurable using the Easy LP software, which is included in model: IOS-T12x SETUP along with the S117P modem and USB cable, and a cable to connect from the modem directly to the T121.. There is no need for a power supply, calibrator, screwdriver, jumpers or handheld programmers to configure the input range or Thermocouple type. The S117P is powered from the PC’s USB port and provides power to the T121. All configuration parameters can be stored in a configuration file on the PC for future use or to facilitate repeated configurations. Units already in service may have their configuration “up-loaded” to the PC if the file is lost or misplaced. Signal Conditioning made simple from ioSelect and powered by Seneca, the fastest growing signal conditioning company in Europe. The Easy LP software is available on the ioSelect website: http://www.ioselect.com/Downloads. After installing the Easy LP program on your PC, go to the Start menu in Windows, select All Programs and look for the Seneca folder and “Easy LP”. Hold your mouse pointer on the folder and Easy LP will appear to the right, click to open Easy LP configuration software. USB Cable IOS-T121 S117P PM002411 Connect the USB cable and PM002411 to the S117P and the T121 and connect to the PC. Windows will assign a COM port to the modem. 1. Select Next 2. Select Automatic Search (Offline is useful for a “demo” mode of the software.) 3. Select New Configuration, Load Existing Configuration or Configuration Test. New Configuration 4. Edit Tag - A version, serial number and Tag may be entered here. Click Next to proceed. 5. Select: Sensor Type, Unit of Measure, Offset, Begin Scale (zero -0%) End Scale (span -100%) Internal Compensation (CJC) and Sensor Break Detection (Yes or No). Click Next to proceed. 6. Select Output Mode, Scale Over range, Fault (for error indication), and Filter. Click Next to proceed) 7. Save Configuration, Send Configuration to Device or Show a report. Done. If there are multiple devices with the same configuration, including information from step 3 above, another unit may be substituted and the configuration sent. The data on any screen may be changed with out affecting the other entries so configuration of multiple units may be accomplished quickly. 877 3 GET IOS (877.343.8467) Fax: (800) 303-5381 www.ioselect.com Rev: 2/23/2011 IOS-T121 Universal Input, Head Mount 2-Wire Transmitter Configuration (continued) Load Existing Configuration 1. Configurations may be downloaded from a device and saved to a file or loaded from a file 2. Selecting the File method allows modification or to send the configuration as is. Configuration Test A Test function is included with the software. The test section also provides information about the sensor status and allows reading the module’s status, the values of the input and output. It also allows the user to set the module into manual mode (clicking on Automatic Manual button) and to force the value of the analog output to compensate for any offset. Once the parameters are set they need to be downloaded into the T121. The T121 is then ready to provide years of service with little or no maintenance. Connections Push Wire Connectors 2-wire RTD Sensors - Best used for short distances between module and probe (<10 m or 33 ft). push wire to insert push button and pull wire to remove 3-wire RTD Sensors - Best for general purpose. Lead length compensation assumes all 3 wire lengths to sensor are equal. 4-wire RTD Sensors - The most accurate RTD sensor. Lead length compensation assumes all 4 wire lengths to sensor are equal. Potentiometer input - A pot with resistance between 500 and 1700 Ω can be connected directly to the input. For pots greater than 1.7 kΩ a parallel resistance of 1.5 kΩ is required. - DC Power Supply (5-30 VDC) + Dimensions + I I out I out + 5 44 mm 33 mm (1.3 “) Series device, display or PLC, etc. - - 6 (1.73 “) 4 3 2 1 4-wire RTD 3-wire RTD 4 3 4 3 2 1 1 TC & mV 16.6 mm (0.65”) Programming Connector 4 3 2 4 3 2-wire RTD - Short: 1 to 2 & 3 to 4 @ transmitter 1 Pot ≤1.7 kΩ Pot > 1.7 kΩ (remove Ra for < 1.7 kΩ) 4 3 4 3 2 2 2 1 1 1 + Ra = 1.5 kΩ 20.0 mm (0.79”) EN61000-6-4/2002-10 EN61000-6-2/2002-10 ioSelect, Incorporated 877 3 GET IOS (877.343.8467) Fax: (800) 303-5381 P: 858-537-2060, F: 800-303-5381, [email protected] www.ioselect.com rev: 7/09
