The 411 on the 419 CIC: The CIC of Henry County, along with the economic development offices of Fulton, Williams, Paulding and Defiance County recently organized the 2015 Northwest Ohio Manufacturing Day at Northwest State Community College on October 2nd for junior and senior students attending schools within those counties. Manufacturing Day is a celebration of modern manufacturing meant to inspire the next generation of manufacturers. The event, in partnership with Northwest State Community College and Ohio Manufacturing Extension Partnership, offered over 250 students a variety of breakout sessions instructed by NSCC instructors which included Welding, Auto/PLC, Machining, IT/Data, Robotics, STEM/Eng. and a Soft Skill lecture by Christina Gross, College of Business/High School Presenter from the University of Northwestern Ohio. Students were also able to attend a Manufacturing Expo which featured thirty-four manufacturing companies from the five county areas. Students were given a Passport to Manufacturing which included sample questions for them to ask the manufacturing reps to encourage them to start a discussion about what the companies manufacture and what positions they offer. After answering the students questions the manufacturing reps then initialed in the students passport, those students with a completed passport were then entered into a drawing for a Samsung Galaxy Tablet. Manufacturing companies participating from Henry County included Alex Products, Automatic Feed, B&B Molded Products, Napoleon Machine and Triple Diamond Plastics. To find out more about how you can participate in the 2016 Manufacturing Day event please visit www.mfgday.com or call the Henry County CIC office for more information on this national event. 1|Page December, Issue 15-02 Expanding Business: TJ Automation, Inc. is a manufacturer and service provider of steel, nylon and rubber bending automation equipment. J&B Precision Application was started in 2009 in Ottawa, Ohio with the idea that there was a better way to serve the area farmer’s needs. Brandon and Jeremy were dedicated to finding the answer and first, focused on custom application, as the business grew so did the services J&B provided. Currently they are most recognized for custom applying Poultry Litter, but provide custom application of lime and gypsum, as well. Plant health is also a top priority for J&B and they supply chemical and plant health needs along with a full line up of top notch seed. In June, 2015 they purchased an additional location at 17-719 U.S. Rt. 6 between Napoleon and Ridgeville Corners to expand their ability to service a broader area with the same commitment and dedication to timely and properly serve the farmer and his needs as they did six years ago.
