Twenty colleges and universities from Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana and Mississippi met with juniors and seniors this week to help them plan for life after high school. Congratulations to Dr. Dale Yount for organizing this fabulous event! SWHS celebrated Hispanic Awareness Month with an exciting assembly featuring “Amid”. School Portraits on Monday! Underclassmen will go to the auditorium during their English class. Students should bring their order forms and payments with them. Cristina Pfeiffer and Brian Goddin from News Channel 7 spoke to the class about producing an informative and fun newscast. They also spent some time working with the students in the TV studio and took part in today’s broadcast of SNN TV. Watch for Cristina and Brian’s report about their visit to SWHS on Channel 7 tonight or tomorrow. Don’t delay! Order your yearbook now before the price increase on September 30th. Students and parents were devastated they were unable to purchase a yearbook at the last minute. On October 1st yearbooks will be on sale for $65.00. Yearbook orders will end on November 20th. Parents: The Freshman Parent Night scheduled for September 22nd has been postponed. We are planning on a Sophomore/Junior Parent Night on October 13th. Please mark your calendars for Open House on October 27th. We’re making plans for a spaghetti dinner and other activities that evening. Please watch SNN for more information.
