YARA MARGARITAVILLE GRAND CAYMAN BEACH RESORT The new and highly anticipated Margaritaville Resort in Cayman will open in the old Treasure Island property later in 2016. Yara, an upmarket steakhouse will be one of the Resort's flagship restaurants and will have a hip, lounge atmosphere with a live DJ. Business Hours Monday – Thursday: 11:00 am – 12:00 am Friday - Saturday: 8:00 am – 1:00 am Sunday 8 :30 am – 12:00 am Telephone: (345) 333-1944 PHYSICAL ENHANCEMENTS ROYAL WATLER CRUISE TERMINAL BERTHING FACILITY UPDATE • The International engineering firm Royal Harkening DHV, have been appointed by the Central Tenders Committee to provide Civil Engineering Consultancy Services for the proposed George Town cruise berthing facility. • The firm is charged with designing the pier which will assist with determining the cost of the piers to achieve the least possible environmental impact. • The Government and Ministry of Tourism has concluded that repositioning and constructing the piers in deeper water would require less dredging and lessen the impact on the environment. • The next step is to determine the standards and specifications of construction. The redesign will inform the by early in the fourth quarter of the year. SPOTTS TERMINAL UPGRADES GRAND CAYMAN The upgrades to Spotts terminal phase 1 are complete and ready for the coming cruise season. The upgrades are all cosmetic and are meant to create a more welcoming and attractive alternate entry to the Cayman Islands. EVENTS & ACTIVITIES INTERNATIONAL SCUBA DIVING HALL OF FAME (ISDHF) SEPTEMBER 30, 2016 Each year the Cayman Islands hosts the annual dinner and induction ceremony, where the Pioneers, Artists and Entrepreneurs are presented with our prestigious award for their outstanding contributions to the sport. The Board of Directors of the International Scuba Diving Hall of Fame maintain the high standards of the Hall of Fame and oversee the prestigious induction ceremony.
