ROYAL WATLER CRUISE TERMINAL
BERTHING FACILITY UPDATE
•
The International engineering firm Royal Harkening DHV, have been appointed by the
Central Tenders Committee to provide Civil Engineering Consultancy Services for the
proposed George Town cruise berthing facility.
•
The firm is charged with designing the pier which will assist with determining the cost
of the piers to achieve the least possible environmental impact.
•
The Government and Ministry of Tourism has concluded that repositioning and
constructing the piers in deeper water would require less dredging and lessen the
impact on the environment.
•
The next step is to determine the standards and specifications of construction. The
redesign will inform the by early in the fourth quarter of the year.
