Minutes taken by: Scott Fehrenkamp
Meeting called to order by President Jim Ingham at 7:30. Andy Petersen led
the membership in the Pledge of Allegiance. The minutes of the October
meeting were reviewed and a motion to accept was made. President Ingham
welcomed visitors and guests to the evening‘s meeting. We had 55 members
and 2 guests and one new member present.
REPORTS:
The Treasurer’s report: John Raybon showing total assets of $13,695.83.
Weigh-Master Report: Mike Vickers reported that fishing has been good
with 29 fish weighed in for the year long tournament during the month.
Blues, Whiting, Flounder, Reds and Pompano have been active in the surf
and in-shore.
Share-A-Ride Report: Chuck Gleichmann asked for a show of hands of
members utilizing share a ride. Only one member acknowledged that he had
taken advantage of this activity. It appears that once members establish a
relationship with a participating Captain, the web site is accessed less frequently. In an effort to further membership, this activity may be followed to
verify it’s viability to help attract and retain new members.
Website Page Status: No report
Picnic Report: Jim Ingham reported that 76 members had signed up with 1
additional guest participating. The food was great, thanks to Paul Treue,
change in venue did not seem to impact the day of fun, fellowship and horse
shoe contest.
OLD BUSINESS:
Tides/Wind Monitors: Richard McCleery updated the audience that the
fishing pier was progressing along fine and that the dredging project is also
on track at Bings.
Manatee Speed Zones: No report
Surf Tournament: Mike McCray commented on what a nice time folks
had at the Surf Tournament. Big Al’s bait shop provided the shrimp to the
club at a reduced rate and reminded members of their discount when frequenting Big Al’s. Again, the fish caught were numerous and everyone
enjoyed the coffee and donuts.
NEW BUSINESS:
2011 Schedule of Events: President Ingham shared with the membership
that all but one tournament is set for next year. We still need a person to
chair the 23rd annual Inshore Tournament next September. Volunteers are
needed.
Holiday Party: John Raybon gave an overview of the upcoming Holiday
Party reminding members to bring an unwrapped gift for Toys for Tots.
Cost is being held down to last years prices of $20.00 per person and
$30.00 for a guest. The menu looks great, should be a fun time for all.
Please send your checks to John and Markay Raybon by November 27th.
Break for 15 minutes:

while providing the group with some inside information regarding the best
spot to be for the November 13 the Annual Flounder and Redfish Tournament. Cap. Mike demonstrated his strategy for incoming, outgoing and
