LDCSB e-Learning Student Login Instructions
As an e-Learning student y ou will be interacting with y our teacher and other students in the course by means of the Learning
Management Sy stem (LMS) prov ided by e-Learning Ontario. Follow the instructions below to access y our course.
Accessing the LMS (Learning Management System)
The LMS can be accessed directly at http://ldcsb.elearningontario.ca.
Alternativ ely , f rom the London District Catholic School Board home page at
http://www.ldcsb.on.ca,
1. hov er on 'Resources'
2. select the 'Student' menu
3. select 'e-Learning Ontario - Courses'
Your username is y our 6 digit pupil number. This is the same number that y ou log
into the school network with.
Your 6 digit pupil number is y our username and initial password.
Once y ou login, be sure to change y our password to ensure the security of y our
account.
Read the Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) and if y ou agree, select 'I Accept'.

Welcome to the Learning Management Sy stem that houses y our e-Learning course.
The 'Home Page Menu' is in the upper lef t.
My Home: Start page when logging in that lists the courses y ou are currently
enrolled. If there is a + sign next to the course title, click on it to expand the list.
Email: Prov ides access to eLO email. You can use this to contact y our teacher or
f ellow students.
Locker: A location to sav e f iles f or access f rom home or school.
Ev ents: Lists important dates identif ied by y our teacher and y ou can add y our
inf ormation here too.
Select the course name (CHV2O in this example) to enter y our course. See y our
Guidance Counsellor if y our course is not listed here.

Course Menu
Once y ou click on the link to y our course, y our 'Course Home Page' will open.
This page has a new menu below the banner, y our 'Course Menu'.
Course Home: Will return y ou to the course home page f rom any where in the
course.
Content: Will open the menu of modules and activ ities. (see details below)
Discussions: Accesses the threaded discussions. (see details below)
Dropbox: Where y ou will submit y our assignments and receiv e f eedback. (see
details below)
Quizzes: To access online quizzes if the course has them.
Classlist: See the names of y our classmates and teacher.
Content
This lists the course units and activ ities that are included in the course.
Discussions
This tool allows y ou, y our teacher, and y our classmates to engage in online class
discussions.
Dropbox
Where y ou will submit assignments throughout the course. Your teacher will hav e
access to submitted f iles f or ev aluation. Your teacher will then return y our ev aluated
assignment and/or f eedback to the dropbox. You will then be able to rev iew this
f eedback by selecting the 'new' or 'v iew' f eedback icon.
Pager
You can send an instant message to y our teacher if y ou hav e a message or
question. If y our teacher is not online, they will receiv e the message the next time
they login.
* Not all courses use the pager.
* All messages must meet the student code of conduct f or the LDCSB and y our
school.
