the angling experience
Milbanke Sound is set in the middle of the central coasts
premier f ishing grounds. The lodge boasts hot spots such
as Cheney Point and Cape Mark only a short ride away. The
Islands and waterways on our doorstep are like a funnel for
migrating salmon. Vast kelp beds and drastic drop-offs make
up the underwater structure in these parts. Traditionally
anglers have f ished cut plug herring close to shoreline kelp
beds but a deeper approach with smaller bait or spoons has
proven to be just as effective. The surrounding shoals are a
massive feeding ground for halibut and other much sought
after bottom f ish.
