Welcome to the June 2015 edition of the ZCSD Newsletter. Hope you are all ready for an awesome summer. I just got back from my annual summer vacation in Puerto Rico and I had a blast. That’s why the newsletter is late, but it gave an opportunity to cover the 24th Anniversary Picnic and BBQ. Thanks to all that came specially our friends from Fairlady Generations. Lenny and Sheri did an awesome job organizing this event. We had plenty of food and a lot of awesome cars in the car show. Congrats to all that won. The general Meeting was very well attended and our guess speaker, Phillip from Bumper Doc addressed the membership and gave us a good overview of the services they provide . Our Vice Pres, Ricky Alberto is coordinating a tech. session at Bumper Doc. June bring us the Idyllwild cruise. This is one very beautiful scenic route and a very Pinterest mountain town. Lenny has arrange for parking at Joann’s Restaurant & Bar. The flyer is included in the newsletter. Hope to see you at the run. The Z Car CLUB OF SAN DIEGO is a group of Datsun and Nissan Z enthusiasts and a Charter Member of the National Z Car Club Association. Purpose: The Club is organized as a California Nonprofit Mutual Benefit Corporation formed to:1) Provide its members with access to knowledge about their Z Cars; 2) Provide a forum for members and other interested parties; 3) Exchange Z Car information; 4) Organize events and activities for members which enhance their enjoyment of Z car ownership. Persons interested in becoming a Member should fill out the Membership Form located on the last page of this Newsletter. Monthly Meetings are held the first Tuesday of each month with dinner at 6 PM and meeting starting at 7 PM. See below for driving directions. Turn right on Clairemont Mesa Blvd. Then look for the Denny’s. on your left. The Board of Directors met before the general meeting to discuss the clubs events, finances and membership renewal and future events. Thanks to our guest speaker and club sponsor Phillip from Bumper Doc. Stay tune for an awesome tech session at their facility on Convoy St. They will host our club and demonstrate the variety of services they provide from paint less dent removal, window tinting, full car detail. Plenty of awesome cars at the meeting .Our friend Mike brought his 240Z, triple carb and awesome custom dash. The parking lot gathering looked like a town festival with all the cars and club members hanging around. Bob brought his nice Mustang out. Robert Calderhead showed up with his G35. Sack impressed us again with another of his craigslist find, Citroen “parleZ vous Francais?’ Z Notes from the ZCCIV PREZ th 24 Anniversary Picnic/BBQ ZCSD 24th Anniversary Picnic and BBQ at Santee Lakes, we had our traditional car show with awesome trophies , great food and the visit of our friends from up North, Fairlady Generations and Fuzzy Bonnie. We had a lot of pretty Z cars on display at the car show We had all generation of Z representing Seems like blue was the predominant Z car color. Plenty of old school representing. Robert Johnson brought his freshly painted Z32. Some of the members and friends from Fairlady Generations made the trip down to San Diego to celebrate with us our 24th Anniversary . Lots of pretty Datsun/Nissan car engines The triple carbs were the main attraction on the engine bay category Thanks to David Mihalko we have our new clubs tent were Clif displayed our club banner. We had a great weather for a BBQ and picnic. Wally and Patty enjoyed the awesome food under the shade Seems like everyone was having a good time in company of friends and good food We had cake!!!! Car show winners circle: Wally won Daily Driver with over 500K miles. Michael Ryan won best engine bay. David Mihalko won best Datsun, Lisa and Bob won best Datsun Z, David Platt won best License plate, Jose from Fairlady Generations won best Nissan Z, Shanna Kipp Krierger won best interior and Robert Johnson won best paint in his Z32. Courage was hungry!!! Special thanks to our friends from Fairlady Generations for coming down to San Diego and celebrate our 24th Anniversary!!! Fairlady Generations with Henry Aruca and Fuzzy Bunny San Sebastian , Puerto Rico Car Meet During my visit to Puerto Rico my friend Adelberto put together a farewell car meet to wish me good bye. Thanks to all that showed up in such a short notice and the rain. Some very awesome and powerful cars showed up. Great photos by Felix Abraham Photography This is my brother's pocket rocket, do not let size deceive you . This BMW 135i M package twin turbo hangs out with the big dogs and hold s its ground. After all it is an in line 6 engine. So one of my former patients and friends, Hector Alvarez called me and ask me if he could show me his 370 Z. Of course I said , but little did I know it was a 40th Anniversary 370Z. Came across this beauty in a Goat Festival, yes goat Another beautiful Z car came my way, this one from my friends Abel Velez and his son Cristian A. Velez. They swap their Nissan Armada for this awesome Z, soon to get an RB engine swap.. Besides my lovely family, relatives and friends these are the other reasons I go to back to Puerto Rico. My Nissan Z32 and my 1980 Toyota Corolla 1.8 rear wheel drive, I usually drive Nissan/Datsun ,but when I don’t, I drive this Corolla.
