rkansas offers abundant opportunities to lead the way in the region’s advanced energy economy. The
development of innovative technologies to help meet America’s energy demands has allowed the emergence
of an advanced energy sector in Arkansas that now accounts for more than 25,000 workers and $2.8 billion in
output, according to a study released by the Arkansas Advanced Energy Foundation (AAEF). These Arkansans are
employed across the fields of advanced energy, including energy efficiency, demand response, natural gas electric
generation, solar, wind, hydro, nuclear, electric vehicles, alternative fuels, and smart grid.

mPOWERing Arkansas 2016 includes a morning networking meet and greet, policy roundtable, interactive
networking, and a lunch program featuring Dr. Katherine Johnson (the Independent Monitor of AR’s utility EE
