The Historic Downtown Mall in Charlottesville offers several parking decks and parking lots. The parking decks charge by the hour ($2/
hour or a max of $16/day). There is also street parking available, but please pay attention to the signs, since many parking spots have
a 2 hour limit.
All parking decks and lots are no more than 2 blocks from the Start/Finish and located on Market Street and Water Street.

Awards will be given to the Top 3 and Masters winners of the Marathon, Half Marathon and 8K. The age groups will be 3 deep in 5 year
brackets. The Awards for the Kids K will be for the boy and girl winners and finishers awards for all participants.
Awards will NOT be mailed, so stick around!

Four person Relay Teams
Four person relay teams can be made up of 4 males, 4 females or Co-ed. Relay Runners will be given four bib numbers and one chip on
a bracelet. THE CHIP MUST BE EXCHANGED AT EACH RELAY LOCATION
Three transition points, two locations
• Transition 1- Mile 5.8 (Locust Ave and River Rd)
• Transition 2 & 3- Miles 9 and 18.9 (Belvedere Blv and Rio Rd)
Miles for each runner
#1- Start to Locust Ave: 5.8 miles
#2- Locust Ave to Belvedere Boulevard: 3.2 miles
#3- Belvedere Boulevard to Belvedere Boulevard: 9.9 miles
#4- Belvedere Boulevard to Finish: 7.3 miles
Transitions and Transportation
Each transition location can be reached by Charlottesville Area Transit (CAT) bus. The bus
leaves every hour starting at 6:30 AM (see schedule below) from the Water Street Transit
Center. This is located 2 blocks from the race start/finish location.
Walking directions from the Start/Finish location to the Water Street Transit Center
The starting line is located at the intersection of E Jefferson St and 4th St NE
Start walking on 4th St NE toward E Market St.
Cross over Market St
Cross over the pedestrian Downtown Mall
Once you reach Water St, make a left
After 2 blocks, you will see the Charlottesville Area Transit Center on your right. This is
located adjacent to the Pavilion.
Relay Transitions locations are served by ROUTE 11 busses
Bus stops for each Relay Transition Location:
Water Street Transit Center- Departure Location- Locust Ave & Smith St- Relay Transit
Location 1- Rio Rd & Dunlora Dr- Relay Transit Location 2
Please let the driver know where you plan to exit the bus, so he/she can let you know the
correct stop

How to reach each Relay Transition Location from the bus stop:
Relay Transit Location 1- Once you exit the bus on Locust Ave, keep walking on Locust Ave. After 2 blocks, you will see the The Relay
Transition Location 1, which is located at the intersection of Locust Ave and River Rd.
Relay Transit Location 2- Once you exit the bus on Rio Rd, walk toward Belvedere Blv. You can follow the bike path and race course.
Belvedere Blv is located about 0.3 miles from the bus stop. The Relay Transition Location 2 is located at the intersection of Rio Rd and
Belvedere Blv
