Welcome To Johor Dear Friends, nd It is with immense pleasure, that we welcome you to the 2 Johor Trauma Update 2016 which is also in rd conjunction with the 3 ASEAN Trauma Congress. Our event will be held at the Grand BlueWave Hotel, Johor Bahru, Johor, Malaysia from 16th to 17th September 2016. The conference is organized by the Trauma Surgery Unit Sultanah Aminah Hospital, Johor Bahru, Johor. Serving as an expansion of the inaugural Johor Trauma Update last year, our unit’s ultimate goal is to cultivate national awareness among civil and military healthcare providers and emergency response units across the nation on the latest updates and trends in acute trauma evaluation and management, based on the latest scientific evidence available. The objective of this conference is to exchange ideas, experiences and lessons learned amongst our esteem colleagues and faculties alike, about the role of internationally accepted trauma care systems and protocols. Such knowledge may then allow us to better equip ourselves with a more fluid and rhythmic modus operandi to managing mass casualties, and disasters. The conference will bring together delegates and distinguished speakers from all over Malaysia and also the regional countries. We also encourage young talents in this field to showcase their research work and clinical experiences through poster presentations. We have selected the theme “The Great War Centennial, A Hundred Years of Trauma Care Advancement” as 2016 marks the centennial anniversary of World War I that sacrificed millions of lives during its 3 years reign of terror. Albeit being an undoubtedly bitter experience, however, great achievements in trauma care have stemmed from it, paving the way for further advancements, which have now come into practice in our daily lives as healthcare providers. We are hoping that the conference will be helpful in designing strategies to prevent and control morbidity and mortality due to trauma. We will strive to ensure that you have a pleasant experience and great time in our humble state of Johor. I look forward to welcoming you all to Johor in September 2016.
