RezPower by ACE Reservation Systems
RezPower & Bluebird Product Integration What is RezPower? • • • • • • • Indianapolis-based ACE Rent A Car created a web-based software platform around its existing connections to the travel agencies in the early 2000s. It was created out of the need to simplify the way that rates were communicated to the ever-growing list of distribution channels. RezPower has evolved into an industry leading central reservation system, with connections to over 100 different travel sites. RezPower uses industry standardized methods of communication which allows us to connect to partners with relative ease. It is unique in that it is a CRS that can interact with multiple independent brands and counter systems. RezPower is used as a data conduit by its customers, to help them stay current with market pricing trends, and exchanges information such as utilization figures, reservation info, contract outcomes, and rate information with point of sale systems like Bluebird. Users who have both RezPower and Bluebird will have access to all of this data because of the recent technology partnership between the two companies. Smith, president of American Airlines. Due to the exploding demand for airline travel in the 1950s, American needed a way to quickly process requests for ticket availability, and IBM was well suited for the task. Other GDS systems emerged through the years including Galileo for United in the 70s and Worldspan for Delta/TWA/Northwest in the 90s. Today, these systems exist in a fashion much like you would have seen on a computer in the 1980s...green screen. Despite their archaic appearance, no one can make a booking on Expedia, Orbitz or Priceline without their requests first passing through a GDS system. What is a Chaincode? ● ● In order to operate on an GDS system, a hotel, airline or car rental brand needs to be represented by a two character code. Travel agencies and OTAs will use this two character code to look for rates at your locations. Building a common link between systems: • How are the two systems integrated? • What can this mean for you and our business? How can RezPower and Bluebird interact? • Pricing • Utilization Data • Contract Data • Reservation Data Pricing • The RezPower pricing module has full integration with RateGain and TravelClick as well as one way integration with Rate Highway. • Bringing competitive data into the reservation system environment allows us to look at our revenue management from a market perspective, a utilization perspective, a conversion perspective, and a demand perspective. • RezPower’s system reports allows you to analyze the market in new ways. • Prices can flow from your Bluebird system into RezPower, and you will soon be able to send prices from RezPower into RentWorks. How Are You Managing Your Rates? How Are You Managing Your Rates? The Basic Rate Structure “The Blind Spot” “The Blind Spot” Extra Day/Hour Rates Pricing Issues If all #1 positions were to book 1 reservation, location would leave $1144.20 on the table. Location is averaging about $36 more than the market when not in #1 position. Cost of shopping all of this data is $0.80. Prepaid Capitalizing on Opportunity The Startup on RezPower: From 0 to 60 Company for one particular customer began taking bookings in July. ● In two and a half months, they have taken 1600 reservations. ● They have generated $290K in revenue, and are on pace to do $1.5M in their first year. ● Average LOR is 8.26 days. ● Fine Tuning a Location: From 60 to 70 5.58 Days vs 5.14 Days – Customers kept the car ½ day longer ● Revenue increased by 9.6% ● Time spent on rate management decreased from about 20 hours down to 5 hours ● Saw a 61% increase in 5-8 day rentals, and 20% decrease in 2-4 day rentals ● DDA increased on 1, 2 and 3 days rentals $8, $4 and $10, respectively. ● Utilization Feed • Bluebird can use the knowledge of your fleets status to make rate decisions so why should RezPower not make those same decisions? • Both systems knowing your fleets availability can help us give you automated rate adjustments. Contract Feed • The RezPower-RentWorks contract feed will allow us to pull valuable data out of your contracts for consideration in revenue management. • We will submit the reservation number which our system assigns to RentWorks and get back data like time and mileage for commission reporting, yield, mileage information, status outcome, etc. Reservation Feed • RezPower will assign reservation numbers to the reservations we take via our channels, and will pass the information down into your RentWorks system. • This includes information about the channel and the customer. • We are working on ways of taking reservations from channel partners who traditionally use email notification, to help us simplify the process by using XML to eliminate manual data entry.
