In 2010 Beiersdorf has introduced a new sunscreen lotion under their Nivea Sun Brand:
“Protect & Bronze” with SPFs from 10 to 50. The products are promising to support the skins’
natural tanning without a classical self tan ingredient. In 2013 the segment includes lotion,
spray and face cream
In 2012 and 2013 several brands and private label companies have launched products in
under “Protect & Bronze / Tan” :
• Aldi North and South and Soltan: Protect & Tan Sunscreen lotions
• Piz Buin: Tan & Protect Tan Accelerating Oil Spray
• Ambre Solaire and Sublime Sun: Ideal Tan /Ideal Bronze products

Also in 2010 L’Oreal introduced Sunscreen Oil with SPFs from 15 to 30 under the brands
“Ambre Solaire” claiming to help to achieve a long lasting, golden looking tan.
In 2013 L’Oreal Paris relaunched their sunscreen line under the brand name “Sublime Sun”
which also includes sunscreen oils.
Aldi South has launched under their Ombia brand Sun Oil Sprays SPF 20 and 30 in 2011, in
2012 Aldi North offered this oils also.
