Quality you can trust
The Veil
All our suits are made from hard wearing
fabrics. The poly/cotton range is 67%
Polyester/33% cotton in a full range of
popular bee friendly colours. This fabric is
a medium weight, much cooler than pure
cotton and does not shrink. The lightweight
suits are made from a Teflon coated
Polyester, breathable and shower proof
fabric. They can be washed and dried very
quickly and are popular with beekeepers
working in warmer climates. All our suits are
manufactured locally here in Cornwall, by
professional and experienced machinists.
Made to the highest standard using only
premium components, we have created
a range of garments that are comfortable
and give the best protection.
We are confident that a BBwear suit, worn
with the appropriate accessories, will give
you maximum protection and confidence
in the apiary and will last, to give
you many years of wear.
Our clothing range is designed for comfort
and should be a loose fit. This creates an
air gap which helps keep you cooler and
allows maximum mobility when working in
the apiary. As our suits are classed as
work wear, our sizes allow for clothing
to be worn underneath.
BBwear use a veiling that has been
specially made for us. It is particularly robust
and UV resistant. These veils give the very
best all round vision, protection and hold
their shape well. Both types of hood should
last for many years if looked after.
The veil is the most important part of your
suit and comes in two different styles. The
standard BB fencing style and the RR retro
round hat type. Both styles can be
unzipped and thrown back when not in use.
All hoods (apart from BB4) are detachable
and interchangeable, so it is easy to swap
or change hoods if you need to.
Special cuts
For those outside our standard size range
we offer a made to measure service and
are able to adapt our patterns to suit your
individual needs. If this is something
you require please contact us for the
measurements we require to make your suit.
Care of your suit
BBwear suits are all machine washable.
We recommend a 30 - 40 degree wash and
gentle spin. The BB standard (fencing style)
hood is machine washable.
We suggest the hood is detached and put
inside the sleeve of the suit, this will protect it
when on the spin cycle.
However in order to maintain their shape
and stiffness, we recommend hand washing
and drip drying both types of veil.
This will prolong their life, shape and stiffness.
Please note the retro hood is NOT machine
washable. At the end of the season we
recommend that your suit is washed and
dried thoroughly and kept indoors to
prevent mould appearing.
Repair Service
Should at any time your suit become
damaged we offer a full repair service.

Deluxe Retro Full Suit

We can provide a replacement hood for all suits in our range apart from the BB4
vest. As all our hoods are interchangeable a new hood of either style can be
zipped on quickly.
BB8 Repair Service
We are able to offer our customers a full repair service. For hoods, veiling and webbing are all replaced.
Note: all veils should be washed before returning for repair. Rips can be repaired and zips can be
replaced. Prices on request.
Embroidery Service
We offer an embroidery service that will make your suit easily identifiable.
