Container handling is a growing industry, and represents both opportunities and challenges for today’s terminal managers. Turning higher
volume into higher profits isn’t automatic. It requires efficiency of
operations – the ability to push more boxes, through an existing space within the same timeframe.
Chances are that whatever your container mix is today, it will be somewhat different tomorrow, and whatever your container volume is
today, it will be somewhat greater tomorrow. Bromma TandemTM is a
concept that helps your terminal further develop and to deal with
both – providing a productivity boost and an extremely versatile
lifting tool.
Bromma is proud to present a new lifting concept, developed to maximize flexibility when switching between spreader frames. The manual
work for switching has been eliminated, changing spreader is handled
from the crane cabin or crane control.
TandemTM Spreader Line
NEW - Headblock
Developed for use with Tandem spreader a new TandemTM headblock is
introduced. The new headblock is developed to be used in combination with the TandemTM spreaders, but can be used with any Bromma
spreader, as well as spreaders of other brands. The new headblock including the automatic connector - reduces the time for switching
between Tandem and another spreader, to less than three minutes.
NEW - Automatic Connector
The automatic connector now introduced by Bromma is specified
and designed to allow for automatic connect and disconnect of the
electrical connection. The connector is designed for the environmental difficulties such as heat, sand and snow. It is small, which is
important for keeping weight low and in order to make it fit on the
spreader and headblock structure. The automatic connector is not limited in use for the Bromma TandemTM concept, it can be fitted on
any spreader of any brand. On a regular spreader it offers an attractive safety feature since spreader change can be achieved without personnel working on or around the spreader.
NEW - Tandem E3
Bromma extends the TandemTM family by introducing the Tandem E3, a
spreader optimized for lifting 40`and 45´containers. The development
of Tandem E3 is driven by the coming mega vessels and the expectations that a big share of the containers carried by these vessels will
be 40´and 45´. As a result of only handling 40’ and 45’ the spreader
weight has been held down substantially. A lighter spreader is faster
and less energy consuming, key factors for any fort operator, especially when loading and unloading a 18 000 TEU vessel.
Other spreader models included in the Bromma TandemTM concept are
Tandem FIX40, Tandem 40/45 and Tandem Quattro to meet the needs
to lift different combinations of 20´, 40´and 45´containers.
