Executive Summary
The 2018 World POPs meet is an exciting event within the International Skydiving community, and
Australia would like to express their interest to host this. Our chosen facility would be Skydive
Nagambie, located in country Victoria.
Surrounded by Australian bush and kangaroos, the dropzone offers excellent purpose-built modern
facilities that are perfect for this meet. Skydive Nagambie has extensive experience in such events,
having hosted the 2016 and 2015 Australian Skydiving Championships, the Australian 2015 CReW
record and the upcoming Australian Sequential Record and Dan BC Bigway Camp.
Australia proposes to hold the meet in the period from March 2018 to May 2018. Conditions are
usually stable at this time and the average temperature is around 22 degrees.
This proposal outlines the location, facilities and attractions available. We welcome any queries or

Location
Skydive Nagambie is located just an hour and a half drive from Melbourne, in the beautiful
Strathbogie region. The township of Nagambie is famous as the birthplace of racehorse Black Caviar,
and is the last of Victoria’s great Lake Communities. Surrounded by world famous Tahbilk and
Michelton wineries, and with plenty of local attractions and accommodation, this is a popular
location for both locals and tourists alike.
Flying
Melbourne International Airport (MEL) is one hour drive from Nagambie, and is well served with
regular international flights from major transport hubs. There are extensive hire car options from the
airport and easy transfer to Melbourne city with the Skybus.
Car
The dropzone is easily accessible by main roads, and is just an hour and a half drive from Melbourne
city.
Train
Trains run to Nagambie train station twice a day. The dropzone is approximately 15kms from the train
station, and taxis can be booked or alternatively pickup arranged by the dropzone if notified in
advance.
Aircraft
PAC 750 XL
Skydive Nagambie operates the PAC XL 750. This
17-place turbine aircraft is custom-built for
skydiving, with a door similar in size to that of a
Caravan.

Our Cessna 182 is available for accuracy or other events if required.

We also have access to a Cessna Caravan, Chopper and Yak if there is sufficient interest.

Dropzone Facilities
Skydive Nagambie is a purpose-built facility, designed especially for the needs of a busy sports
dropzone. By building our own centre, we have been able to design and implement all the features
that make this a comfortable, safe and enjoyable skydiving environment.

Additional portable toilets can be arranged

Local Attractions
Nagambie is famous for Tahbilk and Michelton wineries. Both are great names in Australian
winemaking and their cellar doors and cafés are popular venues. Another 20km up the road you will
find Heathcote - is also famed for its wine.
Nagambie township is small but has many cafés and pubs for a casual day out and evening meals off
the dropzone. Nagambie itself is famous for its lake, with picturesque walks and even the chance to
take a dip on a hot day!
Further afield are the towns of Bendigo, Shepperaton and Benalla – which offer art galleries, cinemas
and shopping. Locally, Echuca Moama has the largest operating fleet of Paddlesteamers in the World
offering day and night cruises.
And of course Melbourne itself – consistently voted the most liveable city in the world is perfect for a
day trip. Famous for its bustling cafés and laneways, it is a vibrant mix of heritage and culture.
