Conference venues
The main conference building is the University of Naples Federico II Conference Centre
(Centro Congressi Federico II), situated on the seafront (Via Partenope 36).

Registration, book exhibitions, poster sessions and most talks will be scheduled in this building.
Technical facilities at the Centro Congressi Federico II [(a) on the map]
The Centro Congressi is well equipped with all the highest level audio‐visual technology and
support facilites (e.g., Overhead Projector & Screen, Flipchart, TV & Video, Fax, DVD, LCD
Projector, PA System, Radio Microphones, Wifi/wired access).
There is WIFI access in the whole building (SSID: guestpartenope; KEY : xs4cn131v). Those
who use eduroam can continue to use it.

Arriving in Naples by car
Please note: Via Partenope is not open to traffic. You will have to park nearby and walk from
where you are parked.
From the A1 motorway take the exit "Napoli Centro Porto". Follow the indications to Via Marina,
Via A. De Gasperi, Piazza Municipio (where you'll see the "Maschio Angioino Castle" in front of
you and the Port of Naples on the left side), turn left and then right, (going around Maschio
Angioino) intoVia F. Acton. Pass through the "Galleria della Vittoria". When you come out of this
tunnel you are obliged to turn right into Via Morelli, after about 50 metres there is a garage on the
right (P1 on the map). If you go around the block turning left to reach the Piazza della Vittoria
roundabout then left again as if to go back through the tunnel, there are two other garages on the
right (P2 and P3 on the map).
Arriving in Naples by plane
From the International Airport of Napoli Capodichino the best way to reach the Conference Centre
is by taxi: the journey will take about 20 minutes and will cost around Euro 20.00 if you ask for the
fixed rate at the start of the journey. By public transport: take the Alibus to "Napoli Piazza
Municipio" just outside the exit of the Arrivals Area at the Airport; in “Piazza Municipio” take the
bus R151 to “Morelli-Vittoria” or the bus R3 to “Mergellina” and get off at “Piazza Vittoria”.
Then, proceding on foot, turn left into via Partenope (seafront) and walk about 300m to the
Conference Centre (refer to the section “By public transport, from Central Station” and to the map
below).
Arriving in Naples by boat
From Molo Beverello port, you can walk to Centro Congressi (refer to next section n.3 of the 1st
solution). Alternatively, you can take either bus R151 or R3. Refer to the next section for bus routes
and traveling time (n.3 of the 1st solution and n.2/3 of the 2nd solution).
Arriving in Naples by train
From the train station "Napoli Centrale" or "Napoli Piazza Garibaldi" (the same location) the best
way to reach the Conference Centre is by taxi: the journey will take about 10 minutes and will cost
roughly Euro10.00 if you ask for the fixed rate at the start of the journey.
Details of public transport, from Central Station – Napoli Centrale / Napoli Piazza Garibaldi
Single journey ticket: 1€. Biglietto orario (hourly ticket): €1.50 (valid for 90 minutes from the
time the ticket is validated). Single and hourly tickets can be purchased at any tobacco shop
(tabaccheria) and many newspaper stands. There are also ticket machines at subway stations as well
as at the Bus Terminal (Stazionamento) and at selected bus stops throughout the city.

1st solution (35 minutes)
i. Take Line 1 of the Subway.
ii. Get off at ‘Municipio’ station
Linea1 Route: Garibaldi – Università – Municipio
iii. From Piazza Municipio, walk towards Castel Dell’Ovo (20min walk)
Walk up to the top of piazza Municipio (away from the Sea) then turn left into via Verdi. At
the end of via Verdi turn right, you will see the San Carlo Theatre on your left. After the
Theatre turn left into Piazza del Plebiscito. Cross the Piazza and continue straight along via
Cesare Console. When you arrive at the seafront, turn right. The conferenze center is about
400m from here, on the right.
OR
iv. In Piazza Municipio, take the bus R3 and get off at the stop ‘Via Arcoleo’ or ‘Piazza
Vittoria’. Once in Piazza Vittoria, follow the seafront, walking towards Castel dell'Ovo
(10min walk).
R3 Route: P.zza Municipio – V. Acton – Gall. Vittoria – V. Arcoleo – P.zza Vittoria
2nd solution (38 minutes)
i. Walk to the Garibaldi Stazionamento (Bus Terminal): Outside of the Central Station, head
right and follow the signs to “Stazionamento” (Terminus): 2min walk.
ii. Take the bus 151 towards Giulio Cesare-Tecchio and get off at ‘Morelli-Vittoria’ Stop
151 Route: Garibaldi/circumvesuviana – Marina/piazza Mercato – Marina/ Duomo –
Marina/Orefici – Marina/Universita' – Marchese Campodisola – Depretis/Loggia Dei Pisani
– Acton/Molo Beverello – Acton – Morelli Vittoria
iii. Once in Piazza Vittoria, follow the seafront, walking towards Castel Dell’Ovo (10min
walk).
3rd solution (45 minutes)
i. Walk to Garibaldi Stazionamento (Bus Terminal): Outside the Central Station, head right
and follow the signs to “Stazionamento” (Terminal): 2min walk.
ii. Take the bus R2 towards ‘San Carlo-galleria Umberto I’ and get off at the stop ‘Piazza
Trieste e Trento’
R2 Route: Piazza Garibaldi (Staz. A.N.M./C.T.P.) - C.so Umberto I – Umberto I Duomo –
P.zza Bovio – Via Depretis - P.zza Municipio (=> R3) – V. V. Emanuele III - V. S.Carlo (=>
R3) - P.zza Trieste e Trento
iii. Walk to Piazza del Plebiscito and then cross Piazza de Plebiscito and continue towards the
seafront. Once on the seafront, head right towards Castel Dell’Ovo (15min walk).

Centro Congressi Federico II [see map below]:

From Capodichino Airport, Beverello Port or Napoli Centrale Train Station:
Refer to the instructions provided in the section “How To Reach the Centro Congressi
Federico II”, the two buildings are only 5/6 minutes’ walk from each other.
From Centro Congressi Federico II (red line on the map below):
5/6min walk. From the entrance of the Conference Centre, facing the sea, head right
following the seafront. After the curve, you will see “Mammina Restaurant” (with a large
red M). Climb the stairs close to the restaurant. You will then be in via Chiatamone. Turn
left and walk 50 metres: Palazzo Du Mesnil (n.61) is the building to the left, with a neoclassical façade and flags.
