However, two reels that the team

impact in 2013 are the Helios Gold
and the Artics RTX fixed-spool
reels. Both of these feature radical
new designs from their previous look
and many intricate features allowing
them to be judged as two of the best
Okuma reels ever made.
The use of quality aluminium
and carbon material is one of the
biggest selling points for these two
reels, making them both strong and
powerful.
Okuma Artics RTX
The Okuma Artics RTX features a C-40X carbon frame, side plate
and rotor, meaning the reel is extremely light and, crucially, strong.
Reels are put through many stresses and strains when fishing and
these two properties are crucial to any successful reel.
The RTX also has a Carbonite drag system for smoothness and
durability, along with 7BB SUS stainless-steel ball bearings and a
quick-set anti-reverse roller bearing.
The gearing of a reel is obviously a crucial element and Okuma
has made sure that its gears are up to scratch; the ALG Precision
Alumilite alloy main gear and oscillating gears take care of that.
Other features of the reel include a machined aluminium, twotone anodised spool, precision Elliptical Gearing System, lightweight
EVA handle knob, Hydro Block watertight drag seal and ‘RESII’,
which is a computer-balanced Rotor Equalising System. The Artics
RTX comes in five sizes meaning you can match the reel to the type
of fishing you are doing and the reel weighs only 200g!
