PRESIDENT’S PEN BY LAPAULA ALBERTO
I am sitting outside enjoying the beautiful weather while writing this note. What a
difference from the awful weather we had this past weekend during festival. I hope
everyone stayed safe and dry and was able to get to and from the quilt festival without any
problems.
This was the first year that I only attended the festival one day and there is just too much
to see for one day. It did reduce my shopping which is a good thing! Fortunately, Laura
Bearden, owner of The Quilt Room, will be showing us all her new finds at Quilt Market
at our meeting this month and she will be selling them also, so we get do more shopping!
Don't forget to bring your "festival finds" to show us at this month's meeting or, if it is too
big, you can just tell us about them. Until then, I hope everyone left the festival inspired
and motivated to get into your sewing room and work on a new project or finish one

Strip Club Schedule
To participate in the strip club you simply bring your desired number of 2.5 inch X width of fabric
strips to the monthly meeting. For each strip you bring you get a ticket. The winner gets to take
home all the strips for that night. Each month has a different theme:
November: Red, white, and blue or military themed for Veterans Day.
December: Christmas themed fabrics.

2015 Schedule
November 17-Fantastic Festival Finds and officer elections. Laura Bearden will also showcase The
Quilt Room’s Market Finds.
December 15-Christmas Party. Details coming soon.
Bee Meetings
The L Bee J Charity Bee has voted to change their meeting time for 2015. They will meet from 10 AM
until 2 PM at the May Community Center, 2100 Wolf Road, Huffman, Texas 77336. This is an open bee
and all are welcome to join. If you need more information you can contact Liz Richardson at
832-527-2458. Meeting dates are as follows:
December 1, 2015
Volunteers Needed
There are several committee positions that will need to be filled for 2016. If you are interested in
helping with our newsletter, raffle quilt committee, retreat coordinator, special trip coordinator, or
any other area please see a current board member.
We need our talented members to pitch in and keep things running. Please think about how you
can serve.
