Hello to everyone,
I am looking forward to another
fun filled year. May 1 st starts a new Moose
222
year for us and we are off to a good start. We filled all the positions of the
Board of Officers with a great group of guys. My thanks to all of our
volunteers.
Check out our new website at www.muskegomoose.com, where you will be
able to find current news and information on Lodge events and happenings.
If you have anything you would like posted please contact me and we will get
it on the website.
Our membership meetings are the 2nd and 4th Wednesday’s of each month.
Starting in May we are going to have a drawing at each membership meeting
starting at $25.00. All members will be entered. If your name is drawn and
you are not present $5.00 will be added to the pot and rolled over to the next
meeting. Membership is very important to our fraternity so “talk up” the
Moose to all you know! Mooseheart and Moosehaven need our support.
Don’t forget Comedy Night is May 8th and Mother’s Day Breakfast is May 10th.
We men are cooking up breakfast for our gals, we can use volunteers for this
event, call me for details. Muskego Moose Family Center thanks you for all
your support.

Administrator Message
A wish for my fellow Muskego Moose members:
My wish is that if you are a new member, you will be a member for life and
invite your friends and family to join; if you have been a member for many
years, you already know the core reason why we choose to pay our dues each
year – our children at Mooseheart, our seniors at Moosehaven, our
communities, our Moose home and our Moose friends.
My wish is that after each visit to our Moose home, after each attendance of
a conference or convention, after each visit to our twin cities, after each
community service function that you leave more inspired; that you leave with
cheeks that hurt from smiling and laughing; that you leave feeling warm and
fuzzy from seeing old friends and making new ones; most of all, I wish that
you leave knowing that you are a valued Moose member that makes a
difference every day for a child, a senior, a moose home and a community.
Thank you for choosing to become a member of one of the most wonderful
fraternal organizations in the world!

MOOSE TAB
LUCK OF THE DRAW
Game is played by purchasing a
pull tab (do not open pull tab) and
write your name clearly on the
unopened pull tab. Place the pull
tab in the clear pull tab drawing
box that will be near the pull tab
machine. Then every Saturday at
8pm a pull tab will be drawn from
the box and if that person is present
at the time of the drawing they will
win all the pull tabs that are placed
in the box. If that person is not
present the pull tab will be placed
back into the box and all remaining
pull tabs will be carried over to the
next Saturday drawing. There is
no limit to the number of pull
tabs that you can purchase and
place into the drawing box.
So come out have some fun and

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Moose Riders of the Duncan
Moose Lodge #2202.
One motorcycle driver is dead after 13 motorcycles were involved in a
major crash in Oklahoma on Saturday April 11, 2015. The bikers were
going around a curve when a pick-up truck crossed the center line
striking 5 motorcycles. The 13 motorcyclists were members of the Moose
Riders of the Duncan Moose Lodge #2202 in Oklahoma. 5 other members
were flight lifted to an area hospital, where there conditions varied from
serious condition to critical condition. They have a long road ahead of
them for recovery.
The Muskego Moose Riders have draped there display window in honor
of the fallen Moose Rider Monty Howell. A Sympathy card was available
to sign and was being sent to the Duncan Moose Riders. In the event you
would like to send a card here is their mailing address. Duncan Moose
Lodge PO Box 638, Duncan, OK 73534.
A special thank you to Eva & Dave Skrobis and Marilyn Dangers for draping
the window.

In whatever language you chose, the Muskego Moose Spaghetti crew would
like to thank everyone that joined us for spaghetti!
In April we finished our 9th year of preparing and serving this delicious, allyou-can-eat, family-orientated meal to fellow Moose members of all ages!
For the last eight years, the 2nd Monday of each month brought together
Moose members who came to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, banquets,
Valentine’s Day and, our favorite spaghetti night, Veterans Day where we
honor our Veterans. We enjoyed preparing and serving this meal for you
and looked forward to seeing familiar faces as well as new ones!
After making all this spaghetti, it is that time of year when we take a few
months off to hopefully enjoy a nice, relaxing summer. But we’ll be back in
October and hope you will, too! New in 2015-2016 we will run from
October to March.
Thank you, Muskego Moose members, for another delicious year!

CHAPTER MEETINGS
1ST & 3RD Thursdays
7:00 PM
The May 7th Chapter meeting is in honor of the Membership/Retention
Chair Karen Henkel and her committee. The annual pharmacy budget for
our Moosehaven residents averages $300,000 per year, over and above the
amounts covered by Medicare and private insurance. The cost of
prescription drugs and over the counter medications and supplies necessary
to our resident’s good health continues to escalate at an alarming rate.
The Women of the Moose have pledged to help offset this expense.
The Committee will be holding 50/50 raffles at the Sheepshead
Tournament in September.
This year, the Membership/Retention
Committee is extremely pleased to be able to donate funds towards the
annual Moosehaven budget and once again, assist our Moosehaven
Residents and the WOTM Scholarship & Maintenance Fund.
The main purpose of the Membership/Retention Committee is just what
it implies, retaining the members that we have and those in arrears, as
well as continuing to build WOTM/Chapter membership. All co-workers are
encouraged to ‘talk Moose’ to friends and family to ensure the future of
the children and senior Moose Members entrusted to our care.
Community Service Committee
Recognized at June meeting
The June 4th Chapter meeting is in honor of the Community Service
Chair Jean Swett and her committee.
“Each committee is assigned a special project by International
Headquarters and our committee is proud to be able to provide funds for
the Clothing, Laundry and Dry Cleaning Program at Moosehaven,” said
Melissa.
At Moosehaven as with any normal household, residents want to look
their best on a daily basis, which require clothing, laundry and dry
cleaning.
As the WOTM continue to assist our Moosehaven Campus to offset their
annual budget, the committee is pleased to provide funds to ensure
residents have the fashion clothing they like and want, as well as the means
to properly care for those clothing items.
At this time the committee has not finalized plans for their fund
raising project. From the proceeds of their project, we will be able to
make a generous donation for the Daily Needs Program as well as the WOTM
Scholarship and Maintenance Fund.

Moose – Build our Foundation! You have the
opportunity to talk to your friends and family and
let them know of the many ways they can be of
service to our fraternity as well as in our
communities: Food Pantry, Nursing Home, the
Tommy Moose program and many, many more.
What is Tommy Moose, you ask? Tommy Moose is
a stuffed moose that the Chapter makes available
to local fire and police departments for their use
where there is a child in need of comfort. What
better way to offer comfort – AND – let the public
know about our commitment in our communities.
Again, congratulations, and thanks to these
sponsors for continuing to ‘talk Moose’!

MAY-JUN 2015
SENIOR REGENT MESSAGE . . .
Greetings Co-workers,
Spring is a time of new beginnings, as it is with the Chapter as new officer’s take on their new positions.
My name is Rachel Oemig Klein and I am the new Senior Regent for the 2015-2016 year. You may have seen
me at the Lodge volunteering at one of the many children’s activities that the Moose Family Center sponsors.
I am married to Joe, and we have a six-year old son named Collin, who also loves the Moose Lodge.
I am a small business owner, who runs two group homes for individuals with developmental disabilities
in the Milwaukee area. Prior to that, I have held other management positions for other agencies in the
same field. I have a Master’s degree in Business Management from Cardinal Stritch University and a
Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Marquette University. My leadership style is a servant-leader style
which aligns well with the Moose philosophy of helping others. I also volunteer at my son’s school and I am
on the board of officers’ for Friends of the Mill Pond & Oak Creek Watercourse and I am the Treasurer on
the board for Friends of Vernon Marsh. I enjoy being involved in my community, watching Wisconsin sports
teams, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. I would first of all like to recognize my sponsor,
Lisa Nardi Williams, who is now the Junior Graduate Regent. Thank you for leading the Chapter over the
last year. You took over when the Chapter needed someone, you jumped right in and you set a good
example for me to follow. I appreciate your effort and support. Also, thank you to those who have stepped
up to volunteer to be Chairwomen for this coming year as well. I look forward in seeing you having successful
fundraising campaigns.
The Chapter is still in need of a Junior Regent to serve for the year. If anyone is interested in this
position, please contact one of the Chapter board members listed in this newsletter. I promise I will work
by your side to help prepare you for your current role and in the future, give me a call!
The Chapter leaders will look a little different this year with one less officer on the board, and less
committee chairwomen, but still many opportunities to serve. I will be working with the Board to get every
co-worker assigned to a committee. Keep your eyes open for further information in future newsletters or
come to a chapter meeting to find out more. We meet the first and third Thursday of the month at 7:00
PM.
The month of May honors mothers, so I hope to see you at the Mother’s Day Breakfast Buffet on May 10th
from 9 am to noon at the Lodge. I would like to honor and recognize our past Senior Regents who have gave
of their time and efforts to keep the Chapter going and help make our community a great place to live and
raise a family. I would also like to thank all of you co-workers in advance for your assistance in making this
upcoming year great!
Sincerely,
Rachel Oemig Klein
Senior Regent
TOMMY MOOSE
On Sunday April 19th at the Big Bend Fire Department
Pancake Breakfast & Open House, the Muskego Moose
Lodge represented by Mike Bellek the Lodge’s 2 Year
Trustee, Colleen Jones the Chapter’s Chaplain and
Cheryl Giesegh the Chapter’s Junior Graduate
Regent, presented the Big Bend Fire Department and
Big Bend Police Department with 3 dozen Tommy
Moose. The straight-forward, simple idea behind
Tommy Moose is the key to its success – to provide a
plush doll to police officers, firefighters and
emergency personnel, to use to soothe a child who
has suffered through a traumatic situation.
2016 Graduates, - time’s a-wastin’
If you are a Junior this year and plan on graduating in 2016
and you haven’t applied for the R. Robert Dale Scholarship from
Mooseheart yet, this is your last call. The deadline for
submission of applications is June 30, 2015 and that date IS
CARVED IN STONE! No applications will be accepted after that
date.
ACT NOW!
Remember, members – it’s a $1,000
Scholarship for your son, daughter or grandchild!
HAT’S OFF TO JAMES KNIGHT
James has updated the Muskego Moose Lodge website. He
did a terrific job. You can find the newsletter, upcoming
events, pictures of past events, etc. Please check it out

Congratulations--Academy of Friendship Degrees Earned!
Congratulations to Camille Theys, Shirley Knight and Christine Brooks who received the first degree of the Women of
the Moose—the Academy of Friendship degree! To earn this degree a co-worker of the Chapter held either a
chairperson or chapter officer position, the chapter as a whole earned the Award of Achievement and the co-worker
signed and enrolled two members; the other option is a co-worker had signed up five new members within the chapter
year (May 1st thru April 30th) and, again, the Chapter earned the Award of Achievement. Please be aware that women
who sign up men into the Lodge earn credit toward receiving this degree! Camille earned this degree while being our
Chapter Recorder; Shirley was a Chairperson and Christine had signed up five members. This degree signifies a bond
of friendship and is represented by a gold ring presented to each co-worker during the Academy of Friendship meeting
in April. The colors of this degree are gold and light blue. The Academy of Friendship degree can be bestowed at
the mid-year conference in held in our state or at the International Convention, usually held during the summer.
Camille, Christine and Shirley traveled to the mid-year conference that was held at The Plaza Inn and Suites, in
Wausau, and participated in the Academy of Friendship ceremony on Sunday, March 15 th. The Academy of Friendship
is one of three degrees a woman of the Moose can earn; the other two are Star Recorder and College of Regents.
When you see Camille, Shirley and Christine congratulate them! We are very proud of all their hard work and
accomplishments!

Moose – Build Our Foundation
May 1, 2015 – April 30, 2016
Building our membership to make the Moose stronger
at the core level will be our commitment during the
“Moose – Build Our Foundation” campaign year.
Last year we emphasized the children of Mooseheart,
our seniors at Moosehaven, and the communities in
which we serve during the “Moose – Back to Basics”
campaign year. This year we will focus on growing
our lodges and chapters, our foundation, in order to
support these core values.
