Hamburgers • Hot Dogs • French Fries • Onion Rings HARD AND SOFT ICE CREAM Fish & Chips • Clam Plates • Scallop Plate Regular Meetings Second Wednesday of the Month Adrian Haynes was a member of Nemasket Grange serving as President of Nemasket Grange for several years. He and his wife Flossie were actively involved in the grange and served in many offices. They joined South Middleborough Grange and continued their support for grange work through attendance at grange activities. They were very involved with several other organizations and were both very active with many local veterans’ organizations. Adrian served as a dedicated member of the Honor Guard and marched in many parades with the veterans’. He helped with many activities conducted by the veterans’ and was an integral part of the veterans’ community. He was also proud of his Native American ancestry and attended many activities on Cape Cod and Southeastern Massachusetts. FEATURING VEGETABLES AND FLOWERS The Massachusetts State Grange and South Middleborough Grange #337 will provide premium money for all contests. General Rules and Instructions First time exhibitors who may have questions are encouraged to contact Frank Jefferson at (508) 8667845 or Caroline LaCroix at (508) 947 – 1904 for assistance. Exhibits will be received on Friday from 5 – 6 p.m. and on Saturday from 7 a.m. to noon. All entries must be in place one half hour before judging begins (noon). All exhibits must be grown by the exhibitor. Foods are to be properly covered and accompanied with the recipe. No package mixes are to be used. All canning and preserved goods including jam (except jelly) shall be sealed by processing. All exhibits must be kept intact and on display to the general public from 1:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on the day of the fair. Exhibits may be colleted after 6:30 p.m. Anything not collected after 7:15 p.m. will be auctioned for the benefit of the South Middleborough Grange. Boys and girls ages 5 – 14 as of January 1 are eligible to compete in youth arts and crafts classes for all categories listed. In Memory of Edward tomasik sadly missed by the members of south middleboro grange Suggestions and Helpful Hints for Fair Exhibitors 1. Read all instructions. 2. Follow the premium list exactly. Congratulations 3 Some of the criteria used by the judges in identifying prize winners include: a) exact number of specimens as described in premium list b) uniformity; each specimen should be similar to every other in size, shape and color c) quality; not to large, not to small. Fine in texture, etc. d) free of blemishes; no cuts, bruises, insect injury or disease e) cleanliness; product should be washed or wiped as one would prepare for market display Canning/Jelly/Jams (to be Processed) Garden Center & Antique Shop Open: Spring • Fall • Christmas 4. Products should be of the best quality, uniform in size and good color. 5. The liquid should be clear, free from sediment with the proper amount contained in each jar. 6. Containers should be uniform, clean, properly sealed and labeled. 7. Rims (caps) should be able to be removed. 8. All canning, jams and jellies should be processed. Artistic arrangement, choice of container, and quality of flowers are considered for judging.
