Body Contour Program
What Is Cellulite?
Two Types Of Cellulite
Cellulite can be described as a condition of uneven deposits
of fat, water, and wastes that have become trapped in
connective tissues of the body, just below the skin’s surface.
Cellulite occurs primarily in the hips, knees, upper thighs,
abdomen, buttocks and upper arms. According to cellulite
experts, the biggest contributor toward a cellulite condition
is poor blood circulation. Loss of blood flow to an area,
whether from a lack of exercise, excessive sitting, clogged
arteries, or nutrient deficiency, can have a disastrous
impact on cellulite formation. As a result, cellulite generally
accumulates in these areas where poor lymphatic flow and
circulation occur. The amount of damage that inhibited
blood and lymph flow can do in fragile connective tissue
cannot be calculated but every system of the body is
adversely affected when cleansing systems are reduced or
blocked.
•
HARD cellulite — when squeezing the skin, a ripple
and orange-peel appearance shows the existence of
hard cellulite. This is found mostly on women in good
physical condition.
•
SOFT cellulite — this type is more advanced. It has great
mobility and slides easily over the muscle. Ripples will
be noticed without applying pressure.
•
Cellulite is not fat, but rather a toxic body condition
combined with edema and a lack of circulation.
•
A person does not have to be overweight to have
cellulite — thin people are also affected.
•
Cellulite does not respond to normal weight loss and
exercise programs.
•
8 out of 10 women have cellulite, as well as many men.

Cellulite is a toxic body condition! In order to permanently
eliminate cellulite, you must start at the source of the toxic
body, and detoxify internally. If you have a toxic colon, and
in return are hampering the elimination of toxins, you will
ALWAYS have cellulite. Toxins and putrefied material stored
in the colon are carried into connective tissues, where they
are deposited, forming cellulite. The M’lis Detoxification
Program works hand in hand with the Contour Program, not
only to enhance the elimination of cellulite, but also to help
prevent its formation in the first place.

Cellulite Elimination
There are two ways to permanently eliminate cellulite. They
work best in combination:
Examples of Cellulite
•
Detoxification of the entire body
•
Lymphatic cleansing wraps that clean the internal waste
system
BT-1
THE M’LIS COMPANY
Cellulite Removal Through The Lymphatic System
M’lis CONTOUR body wrap cream contains ingredients
that increase circulation, helping to reverse the cellulite
formation cycle by stimulating the body’s own natural
lymph elimination functions. The lymph system is
responsible for sweeping toxins, bacteria, virus, germs
and harmful substances from the body. Often this process
is inhibited by poor eating habits and lack of exercise.
Contour wraps assist in the process of elimination and
lymph flow through gentle pressure and circulation. The
program is designed to help rid the body of waste. Inch loss,
purification and elimination are the primary goals of the
wrap, rather than weight loss.
During the process and even after the wrap, an individual
may find it helpful not only to decrease calorie intake,
but also to ingest food that is easily digested. You should
consume plenty of water to help flush the systems of the
body and carry out waste. Foods that are heavy, rich, and
tend to overload the liver and make digestion difficult,
should be avoided.
CELLULITE CREAMS — The main ingredient in many of
these creams is aminophyllin. This chemical is an asthma
medication, which was formulated to shrink the mucous
membranes so a patient could breathe. It does exactly the
same externally, shrinking the cells of any moisture. This
treatment encourages water loss, dehydration, and is the
most damaging of all cellulite treatments, as it is putting a
chemical into the body’s blood stream.
WHAT THE M’LIS CONTOUR PROGRAM DOES
•
Cleanses the liquid waste system
•
Aids in the removal of cellulite by softening, breaking
down and freeing trapped toxins and waste materials in
the connective tissues through normal body function
•
Stimulates circulation to aid in healing problem areas
due to poor circulation
•
Creates circulation through a niacin-based cream
•
Uses plastic wrap to help hold in heat, stimulate
lymphatic flow and apply light acupressure.
•
Reduces water retention
•
Tightens and tones the skin
•
Helps a client to lose one half dress or pant size per
treatment
•
Assists any of the M’lis Lifestyle Change Programs
(particularly Fibromyalgia, Candida, Weight Loss, or any
other health issue that involves a depleted immune
system)
•
SALT SOLUTIONS, MINERAL SALT WRAPS, SEAWEED WRAPS
AND LIQUID HERBAL WRAPS — All promote toxins and water
to be expelled through the pores internally to externally.
Though there is a minimal detoxification benefit, these
processes dehydrate and age the skin through water loss. If
there is an immediate weight loss after a wrap, this indicates
that it is a water loss wrap. With an internal cleanse wrap
there is no weight loss for at least 72 hours. With a water
loss wrap, you may be required to wear a rubber suit or
booties to promote sweat and catch the body hydration.
These wraps are generally messy, uncomfortable and
potentially dangerous. The inches will come back as you
ingest liquids again to replace hydration.
CLAY WRAPS — Act as a poultice to draw impurities from the
skin. A dehydrating wrap that tends to age the skin.
Detoxification will cleanse the internal solid waste system,
and the Body Contour Wraps will help the lymphatic system
to do its job. The M’lis Anti-Cellulite Program combines
detoxification and nutrition with the wraps to remove old
cellulite and stop the formation of new cellulite, while
overall health improves.
•
TYPES OF BODY CONTOUR TREATMENTS — COMPARISON
INTERNAL CLEANSING WRAPS — The M’lis wrap uses herbal
formulations that work externally to internally. This type of
program aids in the removal of wastes that have become
trapped in vulnerable parts of our body. It is simply a
cleansing process of the tissue underneath the skin, and
helps restore elasticity to loose, flabby skin. It does not
dehydrate and age the skin. This wrap is the most beneficial
to the body.
THE M’LIS COMPANY 30 DAY TOTAL BODY CONTOUR
PROGRAM INCLUDES:
Is particularly helpful when used in conjunction with
the M’lis Weight Loss Program, as it enables a person to
lose excess inches while losing weight
Uses a wrap that offers permanent inch loss through
body cleansing, rather than being a weight or water loss
wrap
•
INTERNAL DETOXIFICATION — The M’lis Detoxification
Program is an important part of the Total Body Contour
Program, as it cleanses the systems of the body and
the tissues internally. Natural body functions become
stronger and more efficient, and established wastes and
toxins are eliminated. Detoxification makes Body Wraps
many times more effective and reverses the cycle of
cellulite accumulation.
•
SERIES OF BODY WRAP TREATMENTS — This helps to
free and remove trapped waste in the connective
tissue, eliminating internal disfiguring deposits and
stimulating inch loss.
•
EATING CLEANSING FOODS — It is important to ingest
fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains and lean
proteins that can be easily digested.
•
DAILY EXERCISE — Movement is the best way to
BT-2
encourage circulation, lymphatic flow and overall
health.
•
MASSAGE — Assists the body in detoxification by
stimulating the lymphatic and circulatory system.
•
BUFF — Enzymatic exfoliation removes dead skin cells
before the wrap, dilating capillaries and enabling
nutrients to get to the cells. This stimulates the
metabolism of the skin for better wrap results. This is an
essential step done prior to wrapping.
•
CELL-U-RID — This herbal formula stimulates and
strengthens the elimination system. It helps to soften
and break down cellulite through increased circulation
and reduced water retention while appeasing the
appetite naturally.
•
MAINTAIN — A more mild form of the spa-strength
Contour Cream that is used at home on celluliteprone areas to stimulate circulation and continue the
contouring process on a daily basis.
Body Contour Wrap Instructions
INITIAL CONSULTATION
Discuss with the client their needs and desire to determine
if a Body Contour Program is right for them. Help the client
to understand the contributors and causes of cellulite, and
the way the M’lis Body Contour Program works to combat
this condition. It is important to understand their goals.
Some clients desire one or two Body Contour Wraps as a
pampering treatment that will help them to prepare for an
event. Others are ready for an entire program and lifestyle
change. The M’lis Contour Program can be tailored to the
individual. Those desiring long-term maximum results
will commit to a series of wraps and a cellulite-minimizing
lifestyle, including the elimination of cellulite contributors,
a cleansing diet, and exercise. As a Wellness Consultant,
the goal should be to educate your client on the benefits of
using an entire program. This will provide increased results
and satisfaction from the client, as well as higher retail sales
and a relationship with a valuable client.
•
Keep records on this initial consultation. This would be
the time to do a Body Composition Analysis if you have
a machine.
•
Record goals and recommended program at this time.
•
Recommend take-home products for body preparation,
including DETOXIFICATION KIT, MAINTAIN and CELL-URID herbs.
•
Provide the client with a copy of the M’lis Anti-Cellulite
Program Calendar.
•
Fill out a Take Home Agenda for Body Contour Program.
•
Create a schedule that allows time for detoxification ,
including preparation days, and schedule the first 2-3
Body Wrap Sessions.

Do’s and Don’ts To Being A Successful Body Wrap Client
•
DO start taking CELL-U-RID at least one week prior to
starting wrap series.
•
DO drink a minimum of 1 / 2 your body weight in ounces
each day at least 1 week prior to receiving first body

THE M’LIS COMPANY
Understanding Contour Cream
If you have a client that experienced a reaction to the body
wrap, it is important for them to understand why. The
reason is that they have had a niacin reaction. One may
experience this reaction if their body is toxic and is unable
to rid itself of excess niacin buildup. M’lis Contour Cream is
niacin based. M’lis uses this vitamin because of its unique
ability to cleanse the lymphatic and stimulate the circulatory
systems.
During the wrap, the skin may appear pink or red and
may feel warm and tingly. This is not a negative reaction
but is the skins natural response to the introduction of
niacin, increasing circulation. If a reaction occurs during a
treatment, you must explain to the client that they have a
build up of niacin and need to detoxify prior to receiving
another wrap. If a more intense or unusual reaction occurs,
follow the protocol below.
Some tips to help avoid a reaction to the Niacin:
1. Drink plenty of water prior to being wrapped — but not
within 1.5 hours of receiving wrap (to avoid the need
to use the rest room during wrap). Depending on when
the service is to take place they may drink half, to all, of
their daily-recommended water prior to wrap.
Protocol for a reaction to the Contour Cream
1. If the affected area is small, and is causing only mild
discomfort, cleanse the area with a warm washcloth,
apply WASH — let dry, then rinse area. Following this,
dry the area and apply TISSUE REPAIR CREAM.
2. If the affected area is large, but is only causing
mild discomfort, allow client to shower, then apply
WASH — allow it to dry, then rinse body. Following rinse,
dry skin and apply TISSUE REPAIR CREAM.
3. If the affected area is small but is causing major
discomfort, rinse the area with a warm washcloth,
apply the CLAY mask to the area — let dry, then rinse.
Following the mask, apply WASH — let dry, then rinse,
and apply TISSUE REPAIR CREAM.
4. If the affected area is large and is causing major
discomfort, direct the client to soak in a baking soda
bath. Following bath, dry the skin and apply the TISSUE
REPAIR CREAM.
You may suggest that the client — depending on the
severity of the reaction — take an antihistamine. This will
reduce the histamine reaction one has to the cream. (It may
be a good idea to have some on hand, just in case.)
2. If client is taking a vitamin supplement that contains
a high amount of niacin, one may want to temporarily
discontinue use of this a day or two prior to receiving
the wrap.
BT-6
Items To Discuss At This Appointment
who have had cancer treatments within the past five
years, or women who are pregnant or nursing.
Though wonderful results come from M’lis wraps alone, a
Body Contouring Wrap is also part of a total Body Contour
and Cellulite Reduction Program. For maximum inch loss
and lasting cellulite reduction, it is recommended that
the body first be conditioned by detoxifying the lymph
elimination system. This is accomplished through the M’lis
3-day Detoxification cleanse.
Taking CELL-U-RID herbs prior to the first Contour Wrap and
between wraps in a series continues to soften the cellulite
and flush the system to get the most inch loss out of each
wrap. This is especially helpful to those with very hard
cellulite.
You should allow a full 2 hours for each wrap appointment.
You can wrap both men and women. There is not an age
limit; however, individuals under 18 years of age must have
a written consent from parent or guardian. This service is
available on a per visit basis; however, we recommend that
wraps be done in a series.
There should be 4 to 7 days between each wrap. If a client
is overweight and on a weight loss program, a wrap is
suggested for each 5 to 10 pounds lost.
•
Make sure you have practiced and feel confident with
your measuring and wrapping abilities before charging
a client for this service.
•
Fill out Body Contour Progress Chart with name, etc.
•
Record client’s use of DETOXIFICATION and CELL-U-RID
herbs, HEAT exercise gel and MAINTAIN anti-cellulite
lotion on the top of the Body Contour Card.
•
Date and indicate which wrap number (if a series of two
or more)
•
To maintain your credibility, it is important to keep
accurate, up-to-date records
•
Have the client use the restroom to eliminate, and
change into wrapping attire. (Never wrap client in the
nude. Client must wear a bikini or provided disposable
spa coverings.) Client may also wear short socks for
warmth.
•
Weigh clients who will be receiving more than one
wrap. (Permanent inch loss is only guaranteed if the
client does not gain weight after the wrap. If the client
does not want to be weighed, record that request on
the card.)
•
Have client stand in front of a full-length mirror on
something warm, soft, and clean. This is an opportunity
for the client to be made aware of where they will lose
inches, which will help them to see the difference after.
•
Have client face a mirror and indicate where the
differences will be:
Pre — Wrap Instructions for Client — Wrap Day
•
For stomach comfort, it is best not to eat anything at
least 3 hours before your wrap.
•
Control fluid intake an hour or two before your body
wrap. Once the process has begun, you will not be
available to use the restroom for over an hour.
•
The day of your wrap, be freshly bathed or showered.
Don’t use any oils, lotions or perfumes on your body.
•
Avoid shaving your legs the day of your body wrap until
after wrap is completed.
•
You may bring a bikini or swim trunks, or you may
choose to wear a disposable spa bra and panty. This
allows the cream to come in contact with as much of
the skin as possible.
1. Soft, fatty tissue on inner thighs
2. Fatty deposits above and inside of knees
3. Side contour of the body
•
Have client stand sideways in front of mirror. Remind
the client that locked knees slow down circulation.
Because it impedes the body’s natural cleansing
process, poor posture increases cellulite:
THE BODY WRAP APPOINTMENT
Pre-Wrap Instructions for Technician:
1. On back of upper legs
Record all the information at the top of Body Contour
Progress Chart (found at the end of this section). Include
date, name, time, and which products and programs
the client has used. This is where you will record all
measurements throughout the series of wraps. If you have
a Body Composition Machine, you will want to make a copy
of the printout and attach it to the Body Contour Progress
Report. Fill out all necessary information on each visit and
keep with the client’s individual file.
3. Above hip line in back
•
2. On abdomen
4. Below bra strap
•
Have ready:
1. Client’s Body Contour Progress Chart
2. Good measuring tape and the marking instrument
of your choice
3. 200 ft. roll of plastic wrap and plastic gloves
4. 2 ounces of M’lis CONTOUR Body Wrap Cream
DO NOT wrap a client who is currently taking blood
thinners, those with a heart condition, epilepsy, those
5. Make sure the bed is clean and tidy

will lose the most inches
•
Once the skin is free of the granules, take the towel
away for laundering.
2. Make the Body Contour Card fit your needs
STEP 3 — MEASURE & MARK
How to Measure
Be prepared for those with different body builds:
Occasionally, a client will feel dizzy if they have missed
a meal or if they have low blood sugar. Have them sit
down and raise blood sugar level with a glass of fruit
juice.
EQUIPMENT NEEDED FOR A CONTOUR WRAP

STEP 1 — COVERINGS
STEP 2 — ENZYMATIC EXFOLIATION
Precision measuring is critical
Have the measuring tape come around to a point that
is easy to read. Have client plant both feet firmly on the
floor with weight evenly distributed. Note: Sometimes a
client will not want to be measured. Record this request
on the Body Contour Progress Chart and skip the
measuring.
Where to Measure
To get accurate measurements you will need to measure 11
different areas of your client’s body. These 11 points will be
determined by measuring the distance from the floor.
Because CONTOUR is a transdermal cream and uses
the pores as a vehicle to work intercellular, the skin
should be exfoliated prior to a wrap. An exfoliating
treatment with M’lis BUFF will get rid of any dead cells,
natural body oils, lotions, or perfumes on the body for
maximum wrap results. Exfoliation also helps to dilate
capillaries, enabling nutrients to get to the cells and
activating the metabolism of the skin for better wrap
results. Vigorously apply BUFF in a circular motion over
the areas to be wrapped, and then allow it to dry.

STEP 4 — APPLY CREAM
•
Measure around fullest part of the abdomen
•
If client has a large abdomen, add an extra
measurement
CONTOUR cream should be used from a 2 oz. pre-measured
jar for accurate volume. Cream should be kept at room
temperature, always being rotated to ensure freshness.
When applying the cream, it is important to use plastic/latex
gloves.
1. Measure just above the pubic bone, and then two
inches above the first mark
2. Record on your measuring chart by making a slash
from upper left corner to lower right on each of the
3 squares involved
•
Have client stand facing you with legs apart.
•
Does client have any surgical scars or stretch marks?
If so, apply REPAIR Tissue Repair Cream over the scar.
The heat from the wrap will help the REPAIR start the
healing process faster.
•
Explain that the CONTOUR cream will feel cool upon
application and then will become warm and skin will
take on a pink/red tone. Never apply cream to the face
or the bikini areas.
•
First apply a small round circle of the cream on the
décolleté (core of the lymph system) to begin the
flushing process.
•
Apply the cream to the entire body (excluding the
avoided areas) working in an upward stroke toward the
heart, starting at the ankle.
•
Inches will be lost only where cream is applied.
•
Apply cream to the buttocks by adjusting the clothing
to expose as much of the body as possible. If this is
impractical, pull the covering away from the body and
have the client apply cream to the body under the
appropriate covering.
•
If the area above bra is going to be wrapped, apply
cream across the upper back where you measured.
•
Do not get cream in armpits or apply to the breast.
•
Apply cream to the upper arms last.
Start timing the hour as soon as you finish applying the
cream.
3. Put the lower measurement on the bottom
•
Mark above and below the measuring tape, on the
sides, front and back
•
Record on client’s chart
Waist
•
If you have a difficult time finding the waist, have client
bend to the side towards you. The waist is where the
body creases.
•
Mark above and below the measuring tape, on the
sides, front, and back
•
Record on client’s chart
Rib Cage
•
Measure about 2 inches above the waist or about 1 inch
below bra
•
Mark above and below the measuring tape, on the
sides, front, and back
•
Record on client’s chart
For clients who have cellulite above the back bra strap
(optional)
•
Bring tape around above bra strap, below armpits, &
meet above bra in front
•
•
Mark above and below the measuring tape, on the
sides, front, and back
STEP 5 — WRAP
•
Record on client’s chart by sharing rib cage box
Upper Arms
•
Use a 200 foot roll of plastic wrap that is clear, strong
and stretchable.
•
Keep the roll of plastic to the outside, facing you.
•
Keep the plastic flat against the body.
•
Have client rest his/her right hand on your shoulder
•
Measure the thickest part of the upper arm
•
Roll with your index fingers in top and bottom of roll.
•
Mark above and below the measuring tape, on the front
and back
•
Do not wrap too tightly as you will cut off circulation.
•
Good circulation is what will carry away the waste.
•
Record under the corresponding arm on the client’s
chart
•
Poor circulation creates a poor wrap.
•
Plastic wrap holds in the body heat to ensure the cream
to penetrate deep into the skin.
Have client turn, and measure and mark left side of the
BT-13
THE M’LIS COMPANY
Pressure from the plastic helps to tighten, contour, as
well as to stimulate acupressure points to help flush
waste materials from the body.
Hips
•
•
The more relaxed the body, the greater the inch loss.
Adjust any straps that could create discomfort across
hip bones
•
Check the time and project ahead 1 hour (write time on
Contour Progress Chart).
•
From the skirt, bring the plastic up
•
1. Across the buttocks
2. Over the hip
Foundation
3. To belly button
•
Place end of plastic wrap on the abdomen, keeping the
roll side out.
4. Stop and hold with index finger
•
Slowly wrap 4 layers of plastic loosely around the
abdomen and hips to make a mini skirt, starting at the
waist. Gradually work your way down until you are 3
inches below the buttocks
•
If your client has a hanging abdomen, wrap properly
from the beginning
•
1. Have your client take both of his/her hands and lift
up the sagging abdomen to hold it in place
2. Wrap 3 layers of loose foundation around the waist
3. Bring the plastic wrap down and around 3 times,
scooping up the abdomen and holding it firmly
4. Have your client remove his/her hands and
continue applying the foundation
Example of client holding up hanging abdomen while applying
foundation
BT-14
With other hand, cut the wrap skirt between the legs
(front and back)
Example of tearing mini skirt in front
Example wrapping in-between the legs leading to buttocks lift
1. Do not twist the roll
2. Do not wipe cream off the inner thighs with your
arm or the plastic wrap
•
Lift the plastic roll straight up in the back, over the
buttock on the same side as you have come over the
hip
1. Keep the plastic flat
2. Lift and pull up on the buttocks
3. Keep plastic wrap out of the gluteal cleft
4. Bring wrap loosely over hip to belly button
5. Do this 3 times
•
Now, as you come through the legs
1. Bring the wrap lower across buttocks and hip
2. Apply gentle pressure to the wrap as you come
from back to front
3. Keep pressure gentle as you work the wrap past
you and through leg
4. Each time, bring the wrap about 2 inches lower
5. Keep the hip lines smooth
6. Each time you come to the groin area, hold the
wrap in place with your other hand before lowering
the roll to pass between legs again
Example of tearing mini skirt in back
•
7. Wrap 4 layers on each area going down and 4
layers coming back up
Drop the roll straight down about 12 inches and place
the top end of the plastic between legs

Legs
•
2. If above the knee, you must apply absolutely no
pressure
•
Bring across the abdomen to middle of back and tear
off
3. Cover with the loose wrap just to retain heat
Other hip and leg
4. The increased circulation from cream will make legs
feel good
•
Lay the torn end of the plastic wrap high up on the hip,
bringing the plastic to belly button
Bring wrap across the upper thigh 3 times
•
1. You can wrap legs faster when you kneel in front of
the leg you are wrapping
Repeat on this hip the exact same procedure performed
on other side
•
Bring wrap between legs for last time
•
Bring up across buttocks
•
Gently wrap around middle several times to reach rib
cage
2. Bring wrap firmly from back to front, keep snug, not
constricting circulation
3. Each time you wrap across the thigh, hold wrap
firmly with hand while guiding wrap between legs
Rib cage
4. Keep wrap firm and smooth on the inner thighs to
get rid of inner bulge
•
Wrap around upper thigh 3 times again using gentle
pressure. On the third time, bring wrap between legs
and angle up across the buttocks.
Varicose veins
1. If veins are severe below the knee, do not wrap
•
•
•
Work your way down legs wrapping loosely on the way
down to the ankle and more snug as you work back up
to the buttocks
The plastic wrapped around the rib cage has a tendency
to slide down. In order to prevent this:
1. Continue wrapping from the ribs up lightly across
the breast about 2 to 3 times (add absolutely no
pressure or cream to the breast)
2. Work your way back down the rib cage
Example of wrapping down the legs
•
Have client bend their knee slightly and wrap loosely
•
Work your way down to the ankle loosely
Example of wrapping across rib cage and loosely wrapping breasts
BT-16
Suspenders
•
Keep plastic flat and bring from rib cage up over
shoulder
•
Bring plastic down in the back and go around rib
cage until you can bring the wrap up over the other
shoulder, forming a V-shape
•
Do not make suspenders tight, as this may cause
pressure to client’s shoulders and will become
uncomfortable
Waist
•
Bring plastic wrap down to the waist from the shoulder
•
Roll the plastic away from the body, stretch and pull the
plastic to bring across the abdomen and then around
the back
•
Continue to contour and shape until you have about 4
layers around the waist and hip area

more narrow
Buttocks And Tummy Lift (Contouring)
Example of creating suspenders from the back
•
Bring the plastic wrap down across and under the
buttocks and lift up
•
Continue coming around the front under the abdomen
and lift up
•
Repeat the lifts about 4 times
•
Tear off plastic

Upper Arms
•
Wrap the plastic on the upper arm connecting to the
suspenders (for an anchor) always starting from the
front working your way back toward the back of the
body

•
Check the plastic to ensure it isn’t cutting into armpits,
and if it is, cut a slit to relieve the pressure
•
Wrap 4 layers snugly, but not tight
•
Repeat on the other side
Chin (optional)
STEP 6 — CLIENT RECLINES
•
The chin may be included if the client has a double chin
and is not having a face lift mask
•
•
Apply contouring cream under chin
•
Wrap plastic around head 3 times, like a bonnet
Have client back up to the bed and place hands on each
side of their body to lower them down. Technician then
bends over and swings client’s feet onto bed.
Example of lifting the client onto bed
Example of creating chin lift
Note: Client will only have chin plastic if there is excess skin in the area
•
Tuck your client in between clean sheets
•
Add 1 or more blankets to keep the client comfortably
warm
1. Client must not sweat
2. An electric blanket can be used, but keep heat on
low
•
Make client comfortable
1. Place pillow under head
2. Place a bolster under knees if desired
3. Inquire if support in hollow of back will be helpful
4. Keep the feet warm with socks, an electric pad or
hot water bottle
5. Dim lights

STEP 7 — REMOVE AND RE-MEASURE
Cutting Out
Most people will feel cold at this time. Have a space heater
ready. When the hour is complete, cut your client out as
outlined.
•
Use surgical scissors with a blunt end
•
Place your index finger along beside the scissors
Example of client lying in bed
•
At this point, the client may be left alone to sleep and
relax with soft, quiet music. You may want to add
on a hand or foot massage or a facial at this point.
If you leave, check back often to see if the client is
comfortable or needs anything. If the client would like
to discuss the program during or after the wrap:
Example of cutting client out of plastic
1. Point out the Colon Chart hanging on the wall and
how it applies
1. Be careful not to scratch or cut the body or
undergarments
2. Present client with any applicable fliers that
they did not receive or did not keep from the
consultation appointment
•
3. Bring client brochures and discuss products in
which they have shown interest
Cut along the outer side of the leg. Beware of any
padding on the top of the knee and shin.
•
Cut up along the rib cage
4. Pinpoint their interest
•
Cut off suspenders across the rib cage
5. Remember, we also have an excellent program and
products for weight loss and skin care
•
Pull the wrap away from the body and have your client
sit up
6. Answer any questions that your client may have
•
Have your client roll out of the wrap and bring their
feet over the edge of the bed and sit there for several
minutes. Some clients feel faint when they stand up too
quickly. This may be a result of low blood sugar levels,
so keep some fruit juice available.
•
Have client stand and pat the remaining cream into
their body
•
If client still has cream left on their body:
7. Prepare for the sale of take-home products while
the wrap procedure is completed
1. The client retained water
BT-20
2. The client was not warm enough
3. The applicator used more cream than needed
4. The client has extremely poor circulation
•
Roll the plastic wrap in a ball and discard it into the
trash
After Measurements
•
Notice that after-measuring the skin is very interesting.
The difference now:
1. Softer and more supple
2. Loss of cellulite and inches
•
These contributors cause the skin to react differently to
the measuring tape than before the wrap
•
Re-measure in front of the full-length mirror, as it will
help you line the tape between the tracks
•
Kneel by client’s right leg
•
Have your client stand so you can see both sets of tracks
in each measuring point on the right leg
•
Lay the end of the tape between the tracks on the
outside of the calf, right in front of you, so you can read
it easily
1. Hold end firmly in place between outside tracks
Example of re-measuring calf
2. Keep rest of tape away from the skin
•
Measure the same way all the way up the right leg
3. Line the measuring tape up in between inside track
•
Repeat on the left leg
4. Bring tape around the leg
•
Have client stand facing you, with feet touching
5. Lay flat and hold firmly
•
Measure hips
6. With the forefinger of your other hand, reach all
the way around and run your finger over the tape,
drawing it toward you to iron out any bubbles that
cannot otherwise be detected
1. Have tape come together over upper thigh, not in
center of body
2. Hold tape firmly
3. With your other hand, reach back around, holding
measuring tape between thumb and forefinger
7. Take measurement and record on the chart
4. Run your thumb between the measuring tape and
skin
5. Draw the slack of the measuring tape toward you

a. Any time your client loses over 1/2 an inch, put the
tape back to the pre-wrap measurement and show
you client the loose tape. Clients love this because
it gives them immediate feedback on their inch
loss.
STEP 8 — COMPLETE THE PROCESS
After Wrap Instructions
•
If a client wants to be measured again later, they must
keep the measuring marks intact. Once the marks are
gone, it is impossible and must not be attempted.
•
Just because we measure now, does not mean that is all
the client can lose
•
Keep the cream on for at least 6-8 hours
•
Drink at least 2 quarts of water daily, to flush from the
body that which has just been released into the system.
This is very important!
•
Exercise — move that lymph!
1. Lymph massage
2. Walking, or low-impact aerobics
3. Yoga or stretching
•
Example of re-measuring hips
1. Instruct your client not to sunbathe
6. Now that the skin is soft and more supple, the
measuring tape may cause the skin to indent. This
is not uncommon, and shows the wrap has worked.
7. Take measurement and record on the chart
•
The client can now place their feet apart
•
On the next 3-4 measurements, be sure client has their
arms in the same position as when you pre-measured
•
On the abdomen
2. Tanning beds should be avoided immediately
following the wrap
•
Occasionally, a niacin reaction may occur in people
with a buildup of niacin in the body or those taking
a niacin vitamin supplement. This will manifest itself
with a red rash in the hours after receiving a wrap. If a
niacin reaction occurs, instruct the client to drink plenty
of water and take a baking soda bath. If necessary, an
antihistamine would also be helpful.
•
Your client does not immediately lose weight with
a wrap. The cellulite and released toxins are in your
body’s elimination cycle. In a series of 3 to 6 wraps you
may also lose some weight. It takes about 3 days after
each wrap for the body to eliminate the waste.
•
Be sure client understands that the body contour
treatment is part of a total program that includes:
1. Place end of tape in front and hold firm
2. Line up the tape between the 4 sets of tracks
3. Reach around the body
4. Hold tape between thumb and forefinger
5. Bring the thumb toward you, breaking the seal
6. Measure and record on chart
7. If you do not get the inch loss you expect, take the
measuring tape off the body and re-apply. If this
doesn’t help, wipe the tape off with a tissue and
re-measure.
•
Be aware of sticking tape
•
Become comfortable enough with the measuring
procedure that you can immediately tell your client
how much was lost at each measuring point, i.e., 1/2
inch here, 3/4 inch here, and a full inch here. Wow,
that’s great!
Heat will re-activate the cream and make the skin sunsensitive
1. Detoxification
2. Weight maintenance or weight loss
3. Personal-care products

BT-23
Give client material to take home so they can talk about
your service in an informed manner. Ask them to pass
material to their friends, family, and neighbors. Don’t
hesitate to ask them to help promote your services.
THE M’LIS COMPANY
•
Follow through on your sales of products. Record the
sale on the Body Contour Progress Chart.
•
Continue down to knee or ankle. Work back up and
tear off
•
Make appointment for next wrap. A client can have
a wrap:
•
Repeat on other leg
•
Body-builders are a little more difficult to measure. They
may only need the benefit of skin tightening if they are
in competition form, and may not want to be measured.
If they do, be sure they relax their muscles when being
measured.
a. If at goal weight, every 4-10 days until desired inchloss goal is reached
b. If within 20 pounds of goal weight, encourage
client to lose 5 pounds between each wrap
c. If client is over 20 pounds of goal weight, help set
weight-loss goals
This process has been helping people lose inches and
contour their bodies since 1981.
•
Wrap the client more often as they near their goal
•
Some clients don’t want to lose weight, but love the
smooth, contoured look
RETAIL SALES — IDEAS ON PACKAGING WRAPS
•
1. Set a regular, definite price for a wrap
a. Be sure the client understands the program
2. Have frequent specials
b. Keep the client happy
One may expect an inch loss of 4 to 14 inches lost in 1 hour.
This is not weight loss, but a permanent inch loss. The inches
will only return if the client goes back to old habits. Always
recommend eating the right foods, proper exercise and
drinking at least half your body weight in ounces of water daily.
•
MEN’S WRAP
•
Wrap torso up from the “love handles” to armpits
•
Use 6 measuring points-2 inches apart
•
Start measuring across the “love handles” and work up
•
Start wrapping at waist and keep wrapping loosely right
over the pants and anchor well over the buttocks.
•
Work back up slowly
•
Tighten abdominal area
•
Bring wrap slowly up to chest (wrap chest loosely)
•
Apply suspenders
3. Wraps in combination with services (facials,
massage, foot and hand massage, exfoliation,
pedicure, manicure, etc.)
6. Wraps with before and after pictures — this is very
effective with a series of wraps
7. Price break on wraps during special days or special
hours
9. Offer a special price for referrals (for every 3
bookings they send you, they can get a free wrap)
10. Bridal promotions (i.e. with a series of 3 wraps for
the bride, a free full wrap for the bride’s mother)
11. Discount products when purchased with a wrap
12. Discount for members of same family
•
Lay plastic wrap across upper back, across shoulder, and
down arm. Come back up and tear off
•
Repeat on other arm
Legs
Lay end of plastic wrap across buttock and bring down
between legs
2. Wraps in combination with products
8. “Friend Packages” — discounts when two or more
clients come in together
Arms
•
1. Series of 3-6-9-12 wraps
5. Seasonal promotions
Have client wear short swim trunks. It would be a good idea
to keep something appropriate on hand. Men typically have
the most cellulite across the abdomen.
Measure, mark, and wrap from back rather than front
Specials
4. Gift packages
Always have someone else in the salon with you when you
wrap a member of the opposite sex.
