The Historical Museum also includes Indian artifacts as well as numerous items from the Civil War and World Wars I & II. www.pawchs.org – R3 on Tunkhannock street map Noxen Depot – Restored 1893 railway station Former Lehigh Valley Railroad Depot, along state Route 3002 (Stull Road) and Bowman's Creek, Noxen was built to serve the timber and ice industry of North Mountain, and a local tannery. It was abandoned in 1963 when rail service ended. The Oldest House in Laceyville – Built in 1771, this wood framed house was built on the Old North Branch Canal and was a place where passengers could grab a cool drink or stock up on supplies for the rest of their journey. Open for tours and events, spring through fall. Tunkhannock Viaduct/Nicholson Bridge – 2,375 ft long viaduct – The concrete deck arch bridge that spans the Tunkhannock Creek in Nicholson can be viewed from Rt. 11 or Rt. 92. Completed in 1915, it is the largest poured concrete railroad bridge in the world. Martins Creek Viaduct/Kingsley Bridge – Similar in design to the Nicholson Bridge – Concrete arch bridge over Martins Creek and Lackawanna Trail on Canadian Pacific Railroad, total length: 1,600 ft. On US Rt. 11, north of Nicholson. Endless Mountains Nature Center at Camp Lackawanna Vosburg Neck Road – Hiking and river access, over 8 miles of marked trails. All visitors to Camp Lackawanna's grounds MUST sign in and out. www.emnconline.org G Tunkhannock Riverside Park – Tunkhannock, River Street, off of Route 29 South • Picnic tables, fishing, boat access, playground, outdoor ice rink and basketball courts H Road Side Rest Stop – Route 29 South, Bowmans Creek I This map is sponsored by: The Wyoming County Cultural Center at the Dietrich Theater J Lazybrook Park – On Route 6 east of Tunkhannock • Pavilion, sports field, trails, handicap accessible, fishing and playground K Little Rocky Glen Trail – Small in size, but big on beauty. This preserve is owned and protected by the Countryside Conservancy and encompasses a shale and sandstone gorge, about one hundred feet deep, carved by the South Branch Tunkhannock Creek. There are trails around the creek and to cliffs overlooking the glen and down to a field with a picnic pavillion next to the creek. Located off of US 6, along Lithia Valley Road. L Keystone College – Woodlands Campus Trails The 170-acre Woodlands campus complex at Keystone College contains roughly 7 miles of hiking trails. The trails are open seven days a week from dawn until dusk. Reserved for foot traffic only. Bikes, ATVs and horses are strictly prohibited. www.keystone.edu/woodlands/index.dot Bicycle PA Y-Route – Route Y runs from the Ohio border at the Pymatuning Lake in Crawford County east to the New York border at the Delaware River in Lackawaxen, Pike County. The bike route roughly follows US Route 6. Information: www.pahighways.com/other/bicyclepa.html Seneca Trail – A six-mile walking and cycling trail that uses several segments of Eaton Township paved roads and portions of Pennsylvania Route 29. The trail passes sections of Bowman Creek and through Eatonville. The Trail’s southern end is on Jenks Road at the Eaton/Monroe Township border and the northern end is Riverside Park in Tunkhannock. The Dietrich Theater is a non-profit movie theater that uses its film revenue to support cultural and educational programming. If you would like to attend, participate, or help with any of the events, please contact the event organizer for details. The Dietrich features blockbuster and independent films, stage performances, art exhibits, and art classes for both adults and children. In June 2009, the theater expanded and opened two new theaters, now providing a total of four theaters. Currently the Dietrich Theater at the Wyoming County Cultural Center serves as the leading cultural and educational center for Wyoming County providing the community with music, theater, visual arts, crafts, media arts, folk arts, humanities, multidisciplinary arts, science, nature, and health and wellness programming. The trail begins at the Tunkhannock ballpark off of Sunnyside Road. Parking located at the ballpark or further east on Sunnyside Road. Annual Events EMHR was created in 1998 as a non-profit agency with the Heritage Area Program of the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. EMHR's mission is to maintain, enhance and help support the unique rural character, culture and history of the Endless Mountains area. EMHR serves as the designated water trail manager of the Susquehanna River North Branch Water Trail, a National Recreation Trail of the National Park Service. The agency provides water trail maps and information, paddler orientation and wayfinding signage, and helps guide development of river access areas, riverside parks and related waterway amenities. EMHR serves as the sponsor for the Northern Tier Buy Fresh Buy Local Program, a chapter of FoodRoutes Network LLC, subsidiary of the Pennsylvania Association for Sustainable Agriculture. The program's goal is to make it easier for Pennsylvania consumers to find, choose, and appreciate local foods, and support farmers and farmland retention.
