AG LAND REPORT — The average for Nebraska agricultural land values

CASS COUNTY RECYCLE CENTER will open for the season Friday, April
1st — It will remain open through November 12, 2016. Hours: Fridays &
Saturdays 8am to 12pm & 1pm to 4pm, closed from 12pm to 1pm.The
last load will be at 3:30pm.
ONE VEHICLE ACCIDENT Saturday morning — It was reported about
9:30 one mile east of Alvo on Fletcher Avenue.
A westbound 1999 Ford Taurus, driven by an 18-year-old male, flipped
and landed on its wheels. The two occupants were not injured. OPPD
was needed at the scene because a power pole was hit.
Eagle/Alvo Fire and Rescue, deputies from the Cass County Sheriff’s
Office and Cass County EMS all responded.
Fire department volunteers were on location for several hours to
monitor the live wires until the pole was replaced.
MAHONEY INTERCHANGE work starts this week — Tab Construction of
Omaha has the $3,474,595 contract for grading, culverts, bridge
repairs, concrete pavement, guardrail and seeding between Reference
Post 100+82 and Reference Post 101+55, according to the Nebraska
Department of Roads.
During the bridge repair work, traffic will be restricted to one lane with
a maximum width of 11 feet, and will be controlled with temporary
traffic signals. All other work will be performed
utilizing daily lane closures and flaggers. Work is anticipated to be
completed in the fall of 2016.

Tuesday (3/22) at noon — The program about author Laura Ingalls
Wilder will be presented by Kirsten Wood, Youth Services Librarian at
Plattsmouth Public Library. She will talk about the new biography of
Wilder published last year. She will also discuss whether the inaccurate
portrayal of Native Americans in the books warrants the series being
removed from library shelves.
