Her answer Cube 1: numbers 0,1,2,3,4,5 Cube 2: numbers 0,1,2,6,7,8 Now for all the baseball experts out there, chew on this one: There are five ways a player can reach first base without hitting the ball. Name them. For example, if you were a Yankees fan years ago you might have heard something like this from Phil Rizzuto: Joe Pepitone takes his lead off first base. What are the five ways that Pep or any other player could wind up on first base without hitting the ball? Those attending enjoyed a luncheon and were properly impressed with the designer clothing at great prices. The male models are always a hit with this year being no different although "Biker Chick" was a close second. Thanks once again to emcee John Mulholland who not only sported a tuxedo t-shirt with matching socks but also offered free fashion advice throughout the show. It has been agreed that next year's show will feature Thrift Shoppe fashions also start now! Melanoma Skin Cancer Awareness Month. Designated by the American Academy of Dermatology, National Melanoma Skin Cancer Awareness Month seeks to increase awareness about skin cancer and raise the chances of early detection so treatments can be given early. SILK OAK CHATTER MAY, 2013 N 23 35 Certified years in business No complaints unresolved 35 Years in Monthly Media Sock Hop ____________________________________________________________________ T he Planning Committee sponsored a fund raiser in the form of a "Sock Hop" on Saturday, April 4 at the Clubhouse. Semi-Amateur DJ John Mulholland offered up a nice variety of music, a light show and awarded a few door prizes throughout the evening. Hot dogs, chips, root beer floats and brownies were served. This year's Hop was put on the calendar late in the season, but there will be one next year. Time enough to get those poodle skirts and bobbie sox ready! For saddle shoe hints, please see Rosa DeMember on how to make sneakers into saddle shoes! And during that time, Co-chair Shelley Mulholland will learn to multiply by 8 to insure enough rolls for everyone and will stick to the sign up deadline! Hopefully, her mistakes didn't interfere with an overall good time and won't discourage anyone from attending any future events. Thanks to Jean Penney and her decorating committee, Amanda Bailey for "manning" the door and to Jerry Nahrwold for shaking down those attending for the 50/50! (Congrats to the Jewells!) Jean Keiser and Jeannie Jewell did KP duty. Rock On….. Last Monthly Breakfast Buffet ______________________________________ A pril 13 was the last Monthly Breakfast Buffet of 2013. Ray and Rosie extend huge thanks to the many members of the Breakfast Brigade who help out on this Planning Committee fundraiser as well as all who support this endeavor. See you all in 2014!
