Miss N’s
Interview
Interviewing Mr H
Recently we interviewed Mr H
and got the following responses.
Mr H is from a place near Canberra in Australia and although
he has been to many schools, he
has never taught or helped at a
different school before. When
asked which bands he liked, he
said that he liked Red Hot Chilli
Peppers, Linkin Park and
Coldplay. He was born in Goulburn, New South Wales. He had
a good Christmas despite the
weather which was rainy, and he
also had 30 people round. We
asked him what his least favourite part of this school was and
he said it was too muddy! We
hope that Mr H enjoys his year
at Dulwich; that it becomes less
muddy and that he experiences
snow!
By Jack Price
We interviewed Miss N about her time at Dulwich
so far and how she was finding it. She decided to
come to Dulwich because she knew Miss H from
last year; Miss H told her that Dulwich was an
amazing school and she should go on a gap year
there. Her home is in Sydney, Australia. Her middle
name is Anne and her favourite breakfast is cherries. Her favourite subject at school was Music;
this was because she has been playing the guitar
for eight years and her worst subject was Biology.
Miss N travelled from Australia on Singapore Airlines which was a long and tiring flight. She told us
it was scary being in England because she was a bit
homesick. Her dream job for the future is to be a
midwife. She wanted to do a gap year for experience and to practise being away from home for a
long time. Her favourite thing about Dulwich is
that we are all polite and she loves the good manners. Her favourite colours are navy blue and orange. She has two older sisters and one older
brother which makes her the youngest. She has
five cats and two dogs back in Australia and misses
them all. Her favourite film is ‘My Big Fat Greek
Wedding’ because it is extremely funny. She told
us that Miss Fosbery (a.k.a. Fozzie) has been the
most helpful member of staff to her.

Welcome to Miss.L
recently? GOOD, because Tribe Music is coming up and it’s going to be a great
one. The Tribes taking part in this event will have a soloist, a duet, many more
musicians and a choir. May the best tribe (Oji’s) win
win! By Juliette Packard
Many of you will have donated to Eco-Club’s ‘Happy Bag’ collection and this year they raised £308
which went to various charities. However, last year they raised £340 and bought various items with
this money. For example, in Little Stream they have purchased a bench, and we challenge our readers to see if they can find it. (Here’s a clue: it will have an Eco-Club plaque on it!)
Other things the Eco-Club have bought include: a water butt with stand and hose connector, (which
will be situated near Manor) a bat nesting box, a robin nesting box, 3 window feeders and a window
peanut feeder with a camera attached (which will provide information for the Eco-Club’s wildlife
watch). The Eco-Club wish to develop and start using the woodland area between the pond and the
far pitches so that it can be used for more class activities. They would love to receive your support to
speed up the process and get people on board. The nesting boxes are going to be located there first
of all, so perhaps you could look out for those too! If you have any opinions about this matter, especially suggestions as to how you would like to use the woodland area, then Dulwich Detail would love
to hear from you. Either email Miss Hayes or leave a note in Room 12 addressed to us and hopefully
great things will result!
Thank you Eco-Club! Oliver Hutchings (with contributions from Miss Hayes & Mrs Hinves)
Hindleap Warren
Welcome to Miss L
On the 12th February, Year 6 will be
leaving to go to Hindleap Warren,
where they will be doing fun activities
like Problem Solving, Archery, Rock
Climbing, Zip Wire, Mining etc. Year 6
will be split up into groups and those
members of the groups will sleep in a
dorm which has three bunk beds. As
they will be getting very muddy, they
have to wash their own clothes! The
process is … take your muddy clothes
to the sinks and soak off all the mud,
next you have to put your items of
clothing in the drying room and finally,
you have to remember to take them
out again! Good luck Year 6 and have
tons of fun!

Miss. L is one of our gap students that works in Nash
House. In this interview she talked about her previous life back in Australia and what she likes to do.
We asked if she had ever been to England before
and she replied that this was her first time and it is
exciting. We also asked when she first considered
being a gap here, she said “I wanted to do a gap
year since 2012, when my friend did one and then I
definitely decided to do one here half way through
last year”.
For Christmas Day her family and
relatives came over and in the afternoon they jumped into the river in
her back yard. We hope Miss. L
enjoys the remainder of her time at
Dulwich.

Interview with Mr. C
Mr. C came from Shore School in Sydney; his best moment so far
at Dulwich has been spending time with the U10C rugby when
they scored an amazing try. Mr. C has made lots of friends since he
has been at Dulwich, he arrived here on the 4th of January 2014.
Mr. C’s favourite sport is Rugby and he helps all the year groups
but works with Year 5 the most! The only
places he has been to in England are London
and Kent. He only remembers the names of 15
teachers and his favourite part about Dulwich
are the people, who he says are very friendly.
