On Wednesday 5 November 2014, Lambeth Council is organising fireworks display taking place at Brockwell Park,
between 5pm and 10pm. For the first time the event will be ticketed and will cost £7 for general admission and
children under 16 are free. Lambeth Residents are eligible for a discounted ticket of £6 and you can purchase the
tickets online at www.eventlambeth.co.uk/fireworks, over the phone 0871 220 0260 or at your local library. Tickets
must be brought in advance and subject to availability.
Last year’s event was attended by a large audience and the impact on the roads around the park was significant. We
have this year put in place a road closure and parking suspension plan and increased the number of stewards across
the area to help manage this more efficiently. Please be aware when travelling to and from your residence on this
evening that there will be an increased volume of people and we ask you to take greater care.
Road closures:
Some of the roads in the event area will be affected and will be closed to traffic. The Norwood Road slip road at the
junction of Herne Hill Gate leading onto Dulwich Road will have a rolling closure on it from 7 am on Monday 3
November until 11pm on Friday 7 November. This means we are able to close the slip road for short periods to
facilitate large vehicles entering the park through Herne Hill gate. Wherever possible this will not be implemented
during peak hours. However, the ‘no left turn’ at the traffic island will be lifted to enable traffic to turn left into Dulwich
Road from Norwood Road when the closure is in place. From 2pm to 11pm on Tuesday 5 November, Railton Road
will be closed from the junction with Rymer Street to the junction of Dulwich Road/Norwood Road.
A temporary road closure will be put in place for up to an hour on the evening of the event to assist with large volumes
of people arriving and leaving the park, but could be enforced for a longer period if needed. It is anticipated this will be
put in place from 7.30pm to 8.30pm. This will create a temporary traffic free junction of Dulwich Road, Norwood Road
and Herne Hill to allow crowds to disperse safely.

Roads that will be temporarily closed on Wednesday 5 November:








Brockwell Park Gardens from Norwood Road to opposite 42 & 43 Brockwell Park Gardens (note this closure
will be in place from 8am to 11pm to facilitate vehicle access through the gate)
Half Moon Lane from the western kerb line of Stradella Road to the eastern kerb line of Herne Hill
Herne Hill from the south western kerb line of Gubyon Avenue to the northern kerb line of Half Moon Lane
Milkwood Road from the south eastern kerb line of Shardcroft Avenue to the north western kerb line of Half
Moon Lane
Dulwich Road from the south eastern kerb line of Rymer Street to the north western kerb line of Half Moon
Lane
Norwood Road from the northern kerb line of Croxted Road to the south western kerb line of Dulwich Road

Bus changes:
London Buses will be suspending all bus stops on Dulwich Road between Norwood Road and Spencer Road in both
directions 1 hour before and after the event on Wednesday 5 November 2014. Voice recorded announcements will be
made on the buses to inform passengers of suspensions.
Bus route 201 will not be stopping at its current stand and so a temporary standing facility will be available on Rymer
Street. The southbound bus stop on Norwood road opposite Brockwell Park will also be suspended on the night.
Bus route 322 from 6am to 11pm on Wednesday 5 November will be diverted from Dulwich Road via Milton Road to
Railton Road and will not serve the bus stop at Regent Road.
Additional Bus diversions and Bus Stop closures may be implemented on the day if necessary. For further information
