Welcome
Shooters!
To the 2013 International
Defensive Pistol
Association United States
National Championship
Let our sponsors know
that you appreciate their
generous support!
IDPA Championship Participants,
Welcome to the IDPA US National Championship in Tulsa, Oklahoma!
IDPA Headquarters is very happy to be returning to Tulsa and the
fantastic US Shooting Academy. We also greatly appreciate the US Shooting
Academy for agreeing to host the match this year. Please take a moment
to thank them. The US Shooting Academy is an awesome facility with a
number of great training classes and top notch instructors. Any class taken
here will be well worth the money and time spent.
John May is the Match Director for this year’s match. His name may be
familiar to some of you. He is a long time IDPA competitor and has the
distinction of being the only 4 (now 5 time) National Match Director. He
has put together an extraordinarily fun and challenging IDPA match for
your enjoyment. He has selected stages of his own as well as from some
of our CSO’s that will test your skill and ability to the limit. There will be 17
stages of fire requiring 237 rounds to complete, but that is only if you don’t
miss.
There are also several Expo bays for you to enjoy with guns and ammo
provided by Wilson Combat, Nighthawk Custom and CZ-USA. There
are also a number of vendors under our Vendor/Lunch tent including,
Precision Sports Accessories, Target Barn, Comp-Tac, Blade Tech, Glock
Triggers, White Hat Holsters and Animal Customs. Please take some time
to visit these great sponsors and see the gear they have to offer. Also
please take the time to thank all of our other sponsors listed here in the
matchbook. Their generous support helps to make this match happen. You
will find all of our sponsors’ contact info in this book and may run into
their representatives here on the range. When making your next shooting
related purchases, please remember to help support those that support
you.
Also please take a moment to thank John and his talented SO’s and staff
for all their hard work putting this match together. It is a hard job and a
heavy responsibility and I know that your words of thanks will be much
appreciated.
We hope that you enjoy the match and all the different hospitality
opportunities available to you this year. We are committed to making this a
fun, challenging and memorable event. We would love to hear your input
but we do ask that you do it at the hospitality rooms or dinner and not on
the firing line. We want you to help us continue to improve the sport, but
please keep in mind the needs of your fellow competitors.
Have a great match and good luck.

Shooting Schedule
Your first day of shooting, your Shooter’s Meeting will be
at the range. For morning shooters, your meeting will be
at 7:30 AM. For afternoon shooters, your meeting will be at
12:45 PM. After the Shooter’s Meeting, proceed to your first
bay.
The first digit of your squad number indicates what day
you are shooting. Squads 21-28 shoot all day Thursday;
squads 31-38 start Friday morning and finish Saturday
afternoon; squads 41-48 start Friday afternoon and finish
Saturday morning.
Your first bay number is the last number of your squad
number. For instance, squad 25 will start on Bay 5, squad
41 will start on Bay 1.
My squad number is ______.
My 1st bay number is _____.
A Safety Officer will be assigned to your squad and will
remain with it during the entire shooting time. You will
find that Safety Officer on your first bay. That Safety Officer
will assist your squad with a variety of things such as scoresheets and labels and keeping to the schedule. After your
entire squad completes the bay, you will all proceed to the
next bay going up in number.

General Information
THIS INFORMATION IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO READ AND
UNDERSTAND. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, BRING THEM
UP AT YOUR SHOOTER'S MEETING OR CONTACT THE MATCH
DIRECTOR.
Chronographing of Competitors Ammunition
Official chronographing procedure is as follows: Chronograph 3 rounds at a
distance of 10 feet using a weapon of maximum barrel length for that division. If 2 of the 3 rounds exceed the power floor, the competitor is in compliance. Prior to each shot, the muzzle of the weapon should be elevated to
move the powder charge to the rear of the case, thus giving the competitor
every chance to achieve maximum velocity. Should the competitor's ammunition fail to meet the power floor, the competitor will have the option to
chronograph 3 additional rounds through his/her weapon. If there is any
question as to the bullet weight, a bullet should be pulled and weighed
using a powder scale. Any competitor whose ammunition fails to meet the
minimum power floor requirements, will be disqualified from the entire
match and receive a DNF score.
Holster and Magazine Pouch Belt Locations
It will be the competitor’s responsibility to assure that their holster and magazine pouches are worn in an appropriate location per IDPA rules - behind
the centerline. If a safety officer has asked you to move your equipment
to comply with IDPA rules before shooting their stage, they will mark your
score sheet accordingly. If you have more than one score sheet marked, you
will be assessed a 3 second procedural penalty for each additional mark.
Loading to Division Capacity
Unless the course of fire requires otherwise, all divisions will load to maximum capacity prior to each string of fire. In the case of the SSP division, this
will be 11 rounds total in the weapon.
Protective Knee and Elbow Pads
If protective knee or elbow pads are used, they MUST be concealed under
your outer clothing and be of the soft pad type. No hard shell pads are permitted.
Brass
This is a lost brass match.
Course Walk Through
No individual stage walk throughs will be permitted. Each squad will be
given a complete verbal description of the course of fire by the safety officers. However it will be the competitors responsibility to read and understand the course of fire prior to their squadded shooting time.
Target Pasting and Safety Officer Assistance
It will be EVERY competitor’s responsibility to assist the safety officers in any
way; they can paste at least as many holes as they punch in the targets. This
includes steel setting as well. Please, everyone help the SOs out.
Disputes on Scoring and Rule Enforcement
All disputes or protests will be heard by Match Director, John May or

only in the Safety Areas. NOT ON THE LINE. Maintain a safe muzzle direction
at all times!
Rules
The rules of the match are the IDPA Rules as found in the IDPA Official Rule
Book, effective April 15, 2005.
Alcohol and Drugs

Schedule
All times, except for that of your first stage, are approximate and provided

stages are completed.

holster your firearm only in the Safety Areas. NOT ON THE LINE. No ammunition may be in any Safety Area.

Scoresheets have a place on the top for a label. You received your labels
when you signed in. Make sure you place your labels at the top of the scoresheet but do not obscure the stage number or barcode. Scoresheets can be
found on each Bay.
