From the President:
Due to excessive work at the job, we excuse Alan this
month from his blurb. Hang in there Alan!
From the Vice President:
Hello fellow OMP Members,
Even though it was hot at Shiloh this year it is still
one of my favorite places to have an OMP meeting! Special thanks to the Seaman’s for use of their beautiful facility and to all of the great cooks we had for the meeting
meal! (John II, Steve and Bob to name just a few!) The trail riding was loads
of fun too!
We’ve got many fun events coming up in July including the monthly club
meeting and yearly corn roast on July 9th at Ann and Don Winegardners in
Republic, OH. (see map for details) As a reminder all of the meals at the club
meetings are “potlucks” (unless listed otherwise in the newsletter) meaning
everyone is to bring a dish of some sort to share with everyone. It also helps if
before everyone leaves tables and chairs are folded up and put away. That is
why I love our club because everyone usually pitches in to help!!
The July 4th parades will be over before you read this so please send your
photos to Ann of any that you attended so she can get them in the August
newsletter! Let’s continue keeping history in motion around our state and promoting the Ohio Motorpool and the MVPA!!
God Bless…
Mike Spradlin
From the Secretary/Editor:
Well, Shiloh is history for this year. We had a pretty
good showing of members show up off and on during the
weekend. Not so much public or vendors. Didn’t hamper
the fun though. I know quite a few found the mud and others took a nice drive around the woods. I’d like to thank
Mike Thomas for shuttling me around so I could take pictures. I love
the one I took of him and his
granddaughter Casey. Some of
us talked with Lanny Seaman
over the weekend and decided that since we’ll all be busy with convention just after the 2017 Shiloh possible date that we’ll cancel for
next year. Just too much in one month. After that we’ll have discussion on what to do. To the right Judy Miller took a picture of me
as I was leaving the pavilion just before the potluck in our jeep (my
best side) to run down to the truck to get another camera battery.
Great little work horse that jeep!
Next meeting will be at our house (map in newsletter) on July
9th. We’ll eat at noon and Don & Kurt will be fixing the BBQ corn
and brats. For the potluck bring a side dish or dessert. We never are at a loss for food. As usual, we’ll
have the mini swap meet so if you have some stuff bring it along. I hope that this year we don’t have a
monsoon before everyone gets there like last year. We were quite cozy in the only dry area close to the
house.
See you then…..
