With a lot of wind in the shields, KAMEI and Jan Schiegnitz starts into the summer season. The kite surfer,
born in Würzburg, and the Wolfsburg-based manufacturer agreed into a new partnership last year. From
now on, a Delphin 380 roof box ensures the safe transport of the high quality kite surfing equipment consisting of kiteboard, kite shields, suits and other accessories. The improvements resulting from the collaboration will be incorporated into the product development of the already very good series of roof boxes.

THE NOTHELLE-KAMEI AUDI
At the end of eighties he was regarded as the fastest golf in the world: the striking red / orange / yellow striped racing car of the Wiesbaden auto accessory manufacturer KAMEI. This car, in order from „rallye racing“
editor Bernd Renneisen - later racing secretary for the Automobile Club of Germany (AVD) - and KAMEI
men Mira Lochman - now head of Milotec - drove directly into the hearts of viewers. On the NürburgringNordschleife, the Marburger Wolfgang Wolf succeeded to establish this little golf in the middle of a Porsche
pack. Also on the ring Mira Lochman outclassed the competition. Soon the Japanese model specialist Tamiya dedicated this golf two models, including a remote-controlled scale 1:12.
In the late 1970s KAMEI had expanded its front and rear spoiler programme to numerous makes. With the
accent on performance and low fuel consumption every KAMEI spoiler underwent intensive tests in the wind
tunnel at VW and in some cases at Daimler Benz as well. Till now KAMEI‘s presence on the racing circuit
had been limited to advertising. This changed in 1981 when they started optimizing racing tourers. With
KAMEI‘s help the wind resistance factor for the Audi Coupés was reduced by 7% and the lift on the front
axle brought down by 38%. The following years of intensive involvement in motor racing paid off. The experience KAMEI gained here was invaluable and flowed directly into their road spoiler tuning operations.
Today - 35 Years after the KAMEI-Racegolf race debut at the Group 2 – worldwide four persons build there
own KAMEI-Racegolf replica car. These cars are build with a lot of hard work and the results are in all

This by Nothelle restored Nothelle-KAMEI Audi Coupé has a very special connection to the modern Audi
Sport family. Henri Lotterer, father of Andre Lotterer the two times Le Mans 24 Hours overall winner with
Audi, was part of the team behind this Nothelle raching car. Mr Lotterer was heavily involved with the assembly of the car’s engine, which ensured that the car was amazingly quick and loud. It is a 2.0L engine

In the last days of the war, when the Volkswagen factory manufactured wings for Junkers, Karl Meier had
also gained some experience in aircraft construction. Although he was only marginally concerned with
aerodynamics at the time, this knowledge was later to play an important role in the KAMEI success story. Irritated in the early fifties by the tail weight of the VW Beetle and its unstable handling, particularly at
speeds around 100 km/h – which was really pushing it in those days – Meier came up with a remedy. He
constructed a „horizontal stabilizer“. Today this aerodynamic aid is known as a spoiler. To test the market for
his „stabilizer“ Meier set out for the Geneva Salon in 1953.
Barred from exhibiting inside the famous gates for want of the necessary funds for entry he simply declared
a few square meters of roadside in front of the Salon as his outdoor exhibition site. He was nevertheless
unable to convince his contemporaries of the advantages of his strange gadget and so the original spoiler
was packed away until its time was ripe. 25 years later it was hard to imagine cars without spoilers and at
high speeds they were imperative. Not surprisingly, KAMEI was one of the leading manufacturers right from
the start.

boxes design in close cooperation with Mercedes-Benz as well as a specially designed tool for producing it.
This range offers decisive advantages in the unique position at the market of roof boxes . The independent
Mercedes-Benz design makes the roof box umistakeable.
Highest requirements on material and workmanship for more than 60 years now, outstanding quality and
a high degree of customer satisfaction have been important factors in terms of KAMEI products and their
manufacturing processes. That is borne out by the very good results achieved year in and year out as part
of roof box tests conducted by ADAC and the widest range of automotive magazines. 6 years warranty is
also evidence to the high quality materials and perfect workmanship. For years now car manufacturers like
Volkswagen and Mercedes-Benz have been placing their trust in KAMEI’s exclusive line of roof boxes.
Since 2009 KAMEI produces exclusive roof boxes for Volkswagen Accessories Limited in the design of the
manufacturer. An important part of the development of manufacturing an exclusive roof box was adapting
the shape design to the various vehicle models of Volkswagen. This created a uniform design language of
the vehicle and roof box. Specific ideas of color and form are developed in close consultation with Volkswagen. Thereby „Das Auto“ gets its perfect match „Die Dachbox“.

Especially for customers who wish to install a central armrest in their MINI even after delivery, BMW decided in July 2006 for the retrofit solution of the Wolfsburg-based company KAMEI. The already in the free
trade available central armrest has been adapted to the needs of OEMs and is up to now successfully sold
to over the original MINI accessories program. The focus of adjustments to the high security and functional
requirements of BMW was a simple mounting system for easy installation without drilling through the MINI
dealer.
