Take care not to scratch the body or tear the seat
covers.
Put on gloves to protect your hands.
DTC codes will set if the ignition is turned ON (II) with
the seats removed.
1. Make sure you have the anti-theft codes for the radio and the navigation
system, then write down the audio presets.
2. Tilt the steering wheel all the way up.
3. Detach the side clips and middle hooks (A), then remove the rear riser cover
(B).

4. Slide the seat fully to the rear to access the front riser cover.
5. Detach the clip and release the hook (A), and remove the front riser cover (B)
from both sides.

6. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery, and wait at least 3 minutes
before beginning work.
7. Remove the bolts securing the front seat (A), and remove the headrest (B).

9. Install the seat in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
Apply medium strength type liquid thread lock to the front seat mounting
bolts before reinstallation.
Make sure each connector is plugged in properly.
Reconnect the negative cable to the battery.
Tighten the seat mounting bolts to the specified torque in the sequence
shown. Slide the seat all the way back and tighten (1) and (2), then slide it
forward and tighten (3) and (4).
Enter the anti-theft codes for the radio and navigation system (if
equipped).
Reset the clock (on vehicles without navigation).
Perform the power window control unit reset procedure (see
RESETTING THE POWER WINDOW CONTROL UNIT ).

1 Gently pull out along the bottom to release the hooks (B), then remove
the cap (C).
2 Remove the bolts (D), then remove the height handle (E) and screw (F).
3 Remove the recline knob (G) and clips (H), and detach the clip (I).
4 Pull up the cover, then release the hooks (J, K).

8. From under the seat cushion, disconnect the seat-back heater connector (A)
lumbar support switch connector (B) and recline motor subharness connector
(C), then detach the connector clip. Detach the side airbag connector clip (D),
OPDS unit connector clip (E) on the passenger's seat. Release the hook springs
(F) and seat cushion cover (G), pull the cover back, and remove the wire ties
(H).

2 Lift the seat-back, then pull the harnesses (B), out through the hole in the
seat cushion trim cover.

10. Assemble the seat-back and seat cushion in the reverse order of disassembly,
and note these items:
Replace any damaged clips.
Push the clips into place securely.
Apply multipurpose grease to the moving parts of the seat track.

To prevent wrinkles in the seat cushion cover, stretch the material evenly
over the pad.
The passenger's seat is shown; the driver's seat is similar.

Put on gloves to protect your hands.
Apply oil to the pivot portions of the slide locks.
Apply multipurpose grease to the sliding portions of the
seat tracks.
When tightening the weight sensor mounting bolts,
tighten the bolts in the sequence shown. Improper
tightening could cause the front passenger's airbag
system to malfunction.
Make sure the weight sensor wires are routed properly
so they are not pinched and do not interfere with other
parts.

(C) from the retainers (D), then remove the lumbar support and lumbar support

5. Install the lumbar support in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
To prevent wrinkles when installing a seat-back cover, make sure the
material is stretched evenly over the pad before securing the hook strips.
Replace the back panel clips with new ones.
Replace the metal clips with new ones.
FRONT SEAT-BACK COVER REPLACEMENT

PRECAUTIONS AND PROCEDURES ) before performing repairs or service.
NOTE:
Seats with a side airbag have a "SIDE AIRBAG" label on
the seat-back. Because the component parts (seat-back
cover, cushion, etc.) of seats with and without airbags
are different, make sure you install only the correct
replacement parts.
Do not repair any tears or frayed spots of the seat-back
cover. If necessary, replace the seat-back cover.
Take care not to tear the seams or damage the seat
covers.
On the passenger's seat, do not touch the OPDS sensor
in the seat-back pad, and keep it away from oil. Oil can
corrode the sensor causing it to fail.

12. Install the cover in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
Reinitializes the OPDS control unit (see OPDS/ODS UNIT
INITIALIZATION ).
To prevent wrinkles when installing a seat-back cover, make sure the
material is stretched evenly over the pad before securing the clips, hooks,
and hook strips.
Using commercially available upholstery ring pliers (A), replace all of the
clips you removed with new ones (B).
Reinstall the front hook (C) and rear hook (D) of the reinforcing cloth (E)
securely.
Use only original Honda replacement seat-back covers.
If equipped, make sure the recline motor harness, side airbag harness, seatback heater harness, and OPDS unit harness (passenger's seat) are routed
properly.

NOTE:
Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to
avoid damage when prying components.
Take care not to tear the seams of damage the seat
covers.
Put on gloves to protect your hands.
1. Remove the front seat (see FRONT SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
2. Remove the seat-back (see FRONT SEAT
DISASSEMBLY/REASSEMBLY ).
3. From under the seat cushion, disconnect the seat cushion heater connector, and
detach the seat cushion heater connector clip on the manual seat.
4. Release the hook strips (A) from both sides of the seat cushion.

6. Remove the right rear seat belt buckle and center seat belt buckle (see LEFT
REAR SEAT BELT BUCKLE ).
7. Remove the center seat belt lower anchor bolt (see step 2 on REAR CENTER
SEAT BELT ) and left rear seat belt buckle (see LEFT REAR SEAT BELT
BUCKLE ).
8. Pull out the center seat belt through the gap between the rear seat-back and rear
seat cushion (see step 3 on REAR CENTER SEAT BELT ).
9. Remove the rear seat assembly (A).
1 Remove the bolts.
2 Lift the seat assembly up to release the hooks (B) from the holes (C) on
the body, then remove the seat assembly.

8. Release the hooks (A) securing the seat cushion cover.

9. Separate the seat cushion frame (A) and seat cushion cover/pad (B).

10. Assemble the seat cushion in the reverse order of disassembly, and note these
items:
To prevent wrinkles in the seat cushion cover, stretch the material evenly
over the pad.
Push each cover hooks and tabs into place securely.

REAR SEAT CUSHION HANDLE REPLACEMENT
Special Tools Required
KTC trim tool set SOJATP2014 *
* Available through the American Honda Tool and Equipment Program; call 888424-6857
NOTE:
Take care not to tear the seams or damage the seat
covers.
Put on gloves to protect your hands.
Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to
avoid damage when prying components.
The left seat cushion is shown; the right seat cushion is
similar.
1. Remove the rear seat assembly (see REAR SEAT
REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
2. Remove the seat cushion (see REAR SEAT CUSHION
DISASSEMBLY/REASSEMBLY ).
3. Remove these items:
Recline outer cover (see step 3 )
Rear seat cushion under-cover trim (see step 5 )
Rear seat cushion under-cover (see step 6 )
4. Using a trim tool, release the hooks (A), and pull out the handle cover (B) to
release the hooks (C), then remove the cover from the rear seat cushion handle
(D).

5. Release the fastener (A), then pull back the seat cushion cover (B). Disconnect
the handle cable (C).

6. Remove the screws, and release the hooks (A), then remove the handle (B)
from the cushion frame (C) by pulling out the cable (D) through the hole in the
cushion frame.

cable clip (C).
2 Remove the screws (D), then remove the cable joint (E).
3 Remove the nut (F), then remove the cable guide (G) and inner
mounting bracket (H), and disconnect the cable from the cable guide.

7. Install the pivot cable in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
Make sure the pivot cable is connected securely.
Replace the lock washer with new one.
REAR SEAT-BACK COVER REPLACEMENT

covers.

1. Remove the seat-back (see REAR SEAT-BACK

6. Pull back the edge of the seat-back cover (A) all the way around, and release
the clips (B), then remove the seat-back cover.

7. Install the cover in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
To prevent wrinkles when installing a seat-back cover, make sure the
material is stretched evenly over the pad before securing the hook strips
and clips.
Replace any clips you removed with new ones. Install them with
commercially available upholstery ring pliers.

3. Using a 17 mm socket wrench, remove the pivot bolts, then remove the wave
washers (A), washer (B), and pivot brackets (C) from both sides of the armrest
(D).
