first concrete scarifier, Desco has grown
to provide the largest line of surface

alternative to conventional blasting. The media is confined to the
rotating hub, and the only debris that is generated is the coating
itself. A 1 to 3 mil profile is left behind (Satisfying SSPC SPEC.11). On
concrete it simulates a shot blast finish.
The hammer hub performs like a high speed needlegun. The
hammers rotate and when they strike a surface they fracture off
coatings in a forgiving nature and at a high removal rate. A random
profile is left behind but does not satisfy the high standards of SSPC
SPEC.11. By design the hammer hub takes a beating and is long lasting.
The cutter hub is by far the most aggressive of the afore mentioned
hubs. It doesn’t peen the surface (Roto-peen), it doesn’t impact the
Surface (Hammer hub), it cuts! The cutter hub is very effective on
elastomeric coatings, mastic, carpet glue, scarifying concrete, NonSkid removal, and when nothing else seems to work. The cutter hub
comes in two models (Regular 100.007 and extra long 100.008)

The pneumatic wheel accepts a wide variety of abrasive belts from
24 grit all the way down to 80 grit. The pneumatic wheel turns the
Abrasive Belt Mini-flushplate into dust free belt sander. Use for coating removal,

cutter hub with its 144 sharp cutters is very effective on elastomeric

120.024 Heavy-duty general hub, is used for non-skid removal. The blunt nature of
this cutter allows for heavy coating removal with minimal damage to the
substraight. The hub is made up of 24 cutters (800.058) and 4 pins
(120.055). The pins should be replaced every three to four times the
cutters are replaced. Life of the cutter is 6 to 8 hours removing non-skid.
120.021 The BPH hub is a specially designed wheel of pliant surface conditioning
products that enables the Descobrader to deep clean pitted steel due to
corrosive effects. Its characteristics allows it to deep clean without
removing metal and meets the requirements for SSPC Spec 11. The BPH
hub can be substituted for any applications where a wire brush would be
used. A replacement abrasive wheel is 5 1/4” X 7”. (170.023)
120.030 The hammer hub is extremely effective on heavy rust scale, thin set and
overlays. When the hammers strike a surface they fracture off coatings
and scale in a forgiving nature and at a high removal rate. By design
the hammer hub takes a beating and is long lasting. There are 28
hammers (800.094), 28 spacers (550.405) and 8 heavy duty pins
(120.055).

The DescoRip Disc is a 16 grit opened faced grinding disc. Especially effective for
the removal of coatings off of concrete. Diamond discs when used to do edge work
tend to polish aggregates. The DescoRip disc leaves the same edges with a roughen
surface ready for a new coating application. Approximately two hours of continuous
use on concrete surfaces. They can also be used on stubborn coatings on metal
surfaces. The DescoRip with all of its advantages is also value priced.

AIRLESS ACCESSORIES
Airless Guns
The LX-80 Gun is available in either a two or four finger trigger
configuration. The LX-80 includes features like Tungsten
Carbide ball valves and seats, stainless steel ball bearing swivel
for wear resistance and durability. An in handle filter is included
to reduce clogging and increase tip life. The LX-80 comes
standard with a 517 SC-6 Reversible Tip and Guard, is rated to
3600 PSI and weighs only 20 ounces.

The SGX-20 Gun features all metal construction with all
stainless steel fluid passages. Other features of the SGX-20 Gun
are Tungsten Carbide ball valves and seats for wear resistance
and durability, an easy two finger trigger pull. The SGX-20 Gun
comes standard with a 517 SC-6 Reversible Tip and Guard, is
rated to 5000 PSI and weighs only 20 ounces.

These Airless Gun Extensions are available in sizes from 3" to
24" and can be adapted to be used with most airless spray
guns. These extensions are a great help getting to those hard

High Performance Fluid Hose
These high quality airless hoses are highly flexible and kink
resistant. The outer skin is an abrasion resistant urethane,
which is bonded to an inner nylon braid making an extremely
durable airless hose. All hoses have spring guards on both
ends and have a conductive tube design for proper
grounding. These hoses are rated to a 3300 PSI working
pressure. 25 feet of hose only.

AIRLESS ACCESSORIES
Airless Tips and Guards
the SC-6 Reversible Tip is designed for quick and easy tip
unplugging. To clear a tip plug, simply reverse the tip assembly
from spray to clean and pull the trigger. It’s that easy! With all of
the SC-6 Reversible Tips, you can switch from one size to
another without the use of tools. Some other great features are
all of the SC-6 tips are hand tight and need no tools and the
guard is constructed of a patented conductive polymer to help
prevent static discharge.
This tip is a great addition to any painters tool box. The
Adjustable Self Cleaning Tip can give the painter to control the
fan width from 2" to 22" and unclogs easily with a twist of the
tip. All of the wear parts are made of Tungsten Carbide and are
available in orifice ranges from .005 - .015 to .021 - .054. The
Adjustable Tip is rated to 3500 PSI
Flat Airless Spray Tips are recommended for universal use.
Sprayable materials range from low viscosity products such as
lacquers and enamels to heavier coatings like, acrylics, latex, oil
base, epoxies, zinc chromates, mastics and adhesives.

4" & 7" BULLGRINDERS
The Desco dust-free Bullgrinders are heavy-duty
commercial grade grinders that are capable of
using both diamond cup wheels and DescoRip
discs. The shrouds are manufactured of solid
alloy aluminum with a working life of years and
years, and the bullnose feature allows for dust
free operation right to a wall surface. The
shrouds are said to be “Floating”, because an
internal spring holds the weight of the tool up,
this allows the weight of the tool to work for the
operator instead of against him.

FEATURES /
SPECIFICATIONS
The Bullnose grinder uses a threaded cup
wheel for trueness but can take a conventional
cup wheel with center nuts.
Bullnose floating shroud fits most 4” and 7”
grinders. Adapter kits are available for
most grinders.
The nylon brush (200.010) is the only
component that shows wear on the shroud
and is replaceable at a nominal cost. The nylon
brush also allows the grinder to operate dust
free over uneven surfaces.
The DescoRip disc (200.017) is the perfect
application for Mastic and heavy coating
removal. Excellent when a roughened surface is
required. Low cost substitute for a diamond
cup wheel.

Rip Discs
The DescoRip Disc is a 16 grit opened faced grinding
disc. Especially effective for the removal of coatings off
of concrete. Diamond discs when used to do edge
work tend to polish aggregates. The DescoRip disc
leaves the same edges with a roughen surface ready for
a new coating application. Approximately two hours of
continuous use on concrete surfaces. They can also be
on stubborn coatings on metal surfaces. The DescoRip
with all of its advantages is also value priced.

Warranty
Desco tools have been carefully tested and inspected before shipment and are warranted to be
free from any defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 6 months from date of purchase. Should trouble develop, return complete tool prepaid to Desco Mfg. Co., Inc. If inspection shows defective material or workmanship, Desco will repair the tool without charge during
the warranty period. Proof of purchase may be required. This warranty does not apply to normal wear and tear, and does not cover any damages caused by careless or unsafe handling,
alteration, accidents, misuse, or repair attempted or made by personnel other than Desco
Manufacturing Company. This warranty applies in lieu of any other warranties, expressed or
implied, and variations of its terms are not authorized.
