Golfclub Schwarzsee
Prepare yourself for an exciting and totally rewarding course: A unique panorama and fairways will make every golfer’s heart race with excitement. In
2003, the Golf European Challenge Tour was held at Golfclub Schwarzsee for
the first time. Start your game with a 490 m long, very selective opening hole.
This is followed by the most difficult hole of the course: PAR 4, 414 m. Unique
challenge: PAR 3, number 16, the "mousetrap", which is played over a small
ravine. On your return to the clubhouse, don’t be surprised if you hear fellow
golfers talking about the 20th hole. For insiders, this simply means the nearby
Lake Schwarzsee, where you can enjoy a refreshing dip and sunbathe.

Golfclub Eichenheim ranks as one of the finest golf courses in Austria.
Designed by the American architect Kyle Phillips, the course, nestled in the
picturesque surroundings of Kitzbühel, presents a unique challenge for any
passionate golfer. The 5,950 m, par 71 course winds through the region's breathtaking alpinescape offering stunning views of the forest. Opened in 2001, it
is this unique aesthetic that makes Eichenheim such a brilliant course. In the
background of the many fairways, golfers can admire the beauty of the Wilder Kaiser and Hohe Tauern mountains, which proudly display their majestic

Golf and Country Club Rasmushof
1978 - 2008 – 30 years of golf at Rasmushof: The 9-hole golf course at Rasmushof lies directly in the finish area of the legendary Streif run on Hahnenkamm Mountain. The fairways are selectively set up with the 9 holes offering
a sporting challenge for handicap players, as well as serving as an ideal course
for beginners. There are 3 PGA professionals based at the Golf Academy, who
offer instructions using the latest teaching techniques, at the roofed driving
range, as well as on the chipping and putting green (where you can spend
hours honing your drive). Wednesday: Streif cup (handicap tournament).
Friday: Golf and barbecue, 18-hole golf EUR 34.00 per person (reservation
required). Restrictions on player’s entitlement apply.
Other: As close as it gets: Golfclub Rasmushof lies a mere 5 minutes away from the town centre and is easy
to reach easy on foot. Non-golfers can also take a stroll or venture on a tour of the most famous ski run in the
world: the Streif piste.

Golfclub Kitzbühel
A new dawn: 50 years after the club was founded, the golf course was reopened on the Kapser Castle grounds in 2006. It has now become one of the most
famous clubs in Austria, mainly due to the outstanding sporting success of the
club and its stunning location on the sunny side of Kitzbühel. The Grand Spa
Resort A-ROSA has added a touch of splendour to the golf course, which is
now free of traffic, and water and trees have been beautifully integrated into
design of the course. The resort, the clubhouse, the ponds with two island
greens and the old castle walls have become a part of the PGA quality experience. The restaurant in the Golf house invites you year-round to try substantial foods and delicacies, along with classic dishes and tidbits with lovely

brook, which accompany you for the entire course, crowned by a par 3 island

Kaiserwinkl Golfclub Kössen is surrounded by a picturesque larch and spruce forest, and blends harmoniously with Tyrol’s Kaiserwinkl landscape. Golfers

course is fair, and, at the same time, presents a challenge for beginners and single handicappers. At 5,645 m, the course is not very long, due to its numerous
doglegs and narrow fairways, however it still requires a well thought out game.
Here, precise iron techniques will be your key to success; woods should be used
with caution.

The name “Kitzbühel” The legend recounts that the first Bavarian settlers saw
chamois grazing on a hill with their fawns. They named the new place “Kitzbühel”. The truth of the matter is that the region was colonized by the Bavarians
(probably from the late 6th century).

Bavaria or Tyrol? When Kitzbühel was granted the status of a town in 1271,
it belonged to the duchy of Bavaria, except for a few years in the 14th century.
Then it became a part of the Tyrol under the Habsburg emperor Maximilian I.
As a part of the Tyrol, it once again briefly became Bavarian during the Napoleonic era. The national rebellion lead by Andreas Hofer in 1809 saw Tyrolean

first period of prosperity in the late Bronze Age (1350 – 800 BC) long before the
Bavarian colonization. Copper, the important raw material for making bronze,
was mined in Kelchalm, which is known in the local area as Aurach today.

Next year our town will be the golf centre for Rotarians from all over the world.
300 - 350 Rotarians will be here for the Rotary Golf World Championships
from 5 to 11 July 2009. Held in Austria for the first time, events are being arranged at golf courses in and around Kitzbühel, Schwarzsee, Eichenheim and
Mittersill. The World Champion will tackle a total of 54 holes during three
days of play. Various additional competitions, such as the team competition,
the Senior Cup and Partner-World Championships are on offer. Games will be

• More than 30 excellent Golf Alpin partner clubs
• More than 70 Golf Alpin guaranteed quality-approved partner hotels
