Get ready for an extensive and very worthwhile course with unique panoramic
views and fairways to thrill the heart of any golfer.
In 2003 the GC Kitzbühel-Schwarzsee
hosted the “Golf European Challenge
Tour” for the first time. Your round
starts with a very selective, 490 metre
opening hole. This is followed by the
most difficult hole of the course: par 4,
414 metres. The unique sixteenth hole
(par 3), known as the “Mouse Trap”,
incorporates a small ravine. When

you arrive at the club house don't be
too surprised if you hear a local player
referring to the “twentieth hole” – they
mean the Schwarzsee Lake which is
perfect for sunbathing and a refreshing swim after a hard round. In 2011
covered wash areas were installed and
the golf cart paths were widened and
resurfaced.

in 2006 in the grounds of Kapser Castle.

years in the USA to provide professional lessons with his team. Hansjörg Lumpi

Kitzbühel – the golfing pioneer of the Alps.
Golf was already popular in Kitzbühel during the 1950s. At a time when the
sport was enjoying little popularity in continental Europe, the first golf course
in Kitzbühel officially opened on 30 July 1955 making the town one of the
pioneering regions in Alpine golf.
The first tournament took place on 14
July 1956 with 22 participants from six
countries competing for the win. Many
renowned players were there from the top
Egyptian amateur Prince Habib Sursock
through to Heinrich Harrer, Austrian
golf champion and one of the first people
to climb the north face of the Eiger. This

event paved the way for many other tournaments and many Kitzbühlers found
pleasure in the game.
Over 30 years ago the Golf & Country
Club Rasmushof was opened. Located
at the foot of the famous Hahnenkamm
Mountain in the finish area of the legen-
dary 'Streif' downhill ski run it is one of
Tyrol’s most fascinating golf courses.
With the construction of the 18-hole
course Golf Club Kitzbühel-Schwarzsee
in 1988 and the Eichenheim course in
1999, golf in Kitzbühel gained even more
significance.

The highlight of the Kitzbühel golf calendar. During the summer on the “Streif
Attack” numerous sports stars and amateurs conquer the legendary Streif and
battle it out for the win. Every year over 500 participants gather in Kitzbühel.
The tenth festival will be taking place from 24 June until 1 July 2012.
The week of the Golf Festival is by far
the most popular golfing week in the
Alps and is, without a doubt, the highlight of the Kitzbühel year. The combination of ambitious golf and social “get
together” in a relaxed, sophisticated atmosphere entices over 500 internation­
al golf players to Kitzbühel every year.
