PREPARE YOURSELF FOR AN EXTENSIVE AND, ABOVE ALL,
REWARDING COURSE: a unique panorama and fairways,
which make every golfer‘s heart leap.
In 2003, the GC Kitzbühel-Schwarzsee played host to the
”Golf European Challenge Tour“ for the first time. It starts off with a 490
metre long, very selective opening hole. This is followed by the most difficult hole on the course: PAR 4, 414 metres. Matchless: the PAR 3 number
16, the ”Mousetrap“, which has to be played across a small gorge. When
you arrive at the club house and hear players talk about the 20th hole, don‘t
be surprised. Thus is what insiders call the nearby Lake Schwarzsee, where
you can cool off with a dip and sunbathe.

Golf club Eichenheim
Golf Eichenheim is considered as one of the probably
finest courses in Austria. A huge and unforgettable
golf challenge, conjured up by the American
designer Kyle Phillips, nestled in the scenic surroundings of Kitzbühel.
Steep rock faces and dense deciduous forests characterise the 6,092 metre
PAR-71 layout, which was opened in 2001. It is the aesthetic variation
which makes the Eichenheim layout so brilliant. The awe-inspiring
”Wilder Kaiser“ and the ”Hohe Tauern“ serve as backdrop for many fairways, offering breathtaking views with their imposing rock faces, deep
ravines and snow-covered peaks. The adjacent Grand Tirolia Golf & Ski
Resort offers top accommodation between tradition and modernity.

The 9-hole golf course at Rasmushof is set right in
the finish area of the legendary Streif downhill run.
The fairways are laid out selectively, the 9 holes
challenging enough to entice handicap players and
also the ideal course for beginners.
In the Golf Academy, 3 PGA-pros use the latest teaching methods in their
instruction. On the roofed driving range or the chipping and putting greens,

of the club, the golf course by the Kaps castle
grounds was opened again in 2006.
The wonderful location on the sunny side of Kitzbühel and the outstanding sporting achievements have made the club and course one of the bestknown clubs in Austria. The Grand SPA Resort A-ROSA complements the

Kitzbühel History(ies).
The first golf course in Kitzbühel was officially opened as
early as 30 July 1955. Kitzbühel is among the pioneering regions in
Alpine golf.
Saturday 14 July 1956: 22 participants from
6 nations compete for victory in the first
tournament in Kitzbühel. From the Egyptian top amateur Prince Habib Sursock to
Heinrich Harrer, may well-known players
attended.
In the following years, more and more tournaments were organised, in which many
other Kitzbühelers had the opportunity to
establish themselves as golfing pioneers.
The game with the little white ball soon
found many followers in Kitzbühel, and
the Golfclub Kitzbühel had 98 members
in 1958 already. With the construction of
the 18-hole golf course GC Kitzbühel-

Schwarzsee in 1988 and the Eichenheim
course in 1999, golf in Kitzbühel got new
impetus.
The construction of the 4th golf course in
Kitzbühel, the Golf and Country Club Rasmushof, took place over 30 years ago already. By now, this course counts among the
most fascinating golf courses in Tyrol, as it is
situated right at the foot of the world-famous
Hahnenkamm, at the finish area of the
Streif downhill run.

Probably the most popular golf week in the Alps must be the golf
festival Kitzbühel. The mix of ambitious golf and social get-togethers
attracts more than 500 international golfers to the city of sports
Kitzbühel.
For a whole week there is one tournament after the other in the alpine city. The highlight of the 9th
Kitzbühel golf festival is undoubtedly the ‘Streif Attack’ on 24th June 2011, in which numerous celebrities ”plunge“ themselves down into the valley from the start house with their drivers, irons and
wedges. Enjoy culinary delicacies in between games at the gourmet tournament. A total of 9 tournaments (5 of which are handicap tournaments) challenge the visitors! Book packages at the hotels for
