Honorees for September Members of the Month
October 30, 2015 Honorees for September Members of the Month LE Member of the Month Deputy Gerald Rose CO Member of the Month Cpl. Christina Christensen Deputy Rose is originally from Buffalo, New York. He started with the Sheriff's Office in October 2014 as a road patrol deputy. During the month of September, Deputy Rose was involved in the case of a missing person who suffered from dementia. The professional and caring manner with which Deputy Rose handled that situation so impressed the missing man's family that they wrote a letter to the local newspaper expressing their gratitude. The family said, "With all of the bad press police get lately, Deputy Rose left us with renewed faith, and we thank him and all who helped." Cpl. Christina Christensen is from Bristol, TN. She started her career here at the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office February of 2004. She was promoted to the Housing Corporal in June of 2008. Christina has performed exceptionally well since being assigned to ASquad Housing. She has been an asset to our Team in so many ways. I am impressed with her knowledge base, interpersonal skills, organizational skills, ability to handle situations, provide feedback and follow through. She works well on an individual basis and in a team concept. Another example of Deputy Rose's caring personality was when he was the backup officer for another deputy on a traffic stop. The driver was ultimately cited and, as a result, unable to continue driving the vehicle. When the driver couldn't make contact with anyone to come pick him up, Deputy Rose volunteered without hesitation to drive the person home so they would not have to walk home late at night. The driver was very thankful and notified the on-duty supervisor of how professional Deputy Rose was. Deputy Rose is committed to serving his community with heart, dedication and in a professional manner. She is the junior Corporal on the squad but I find her assisting and guiding more senior coworkers. She is forward thinking and demonstrates the ability meet and exceed her supervisor's expectations. She is motivated in reaching the rank of Sergeant while balancing her personal life, work career and continuing her education by seeking a bachelor's degree. Excellent job. 1 Support Services Member of the Month Jason Francis Congratulations Jason Francis, Support Services Member of the month. Jason started with the Sheriff’s IT Division on May 12th, 2014. Upon hiring, Jason was assigned to the Detention Bureau where he immediately acclimated to the existing systems. Jason demonstrated early that he possessed the skills and drive necessary to be assigned to larger, more complex projects. Jason’s technical expertise was instrumental in the implementation of the recent tablet project in detention. He coordinated with Zuercher Technologies, to make changes and to fix bugs in the tablet software. He worked closely with the county and contract personnel during implementation of the wireless network in the detention facility, which provided the means for the tablets to communicate wirelessly with the network software. He quickly familiarized himself with a product not previously found in the CCSO repertoire…Apple iPads. He researched Apple software and found a product which enabled control and ongoing maintenance of the tablets once they were deployed. Jason was born in New Jersey and moved to Cape Coral when he was 10 years old. He currently resides in Punta Gorda with Janelle, his lovely wife of 2 ½ years. Additionally, they are the proud parents of 4 month old twin boys. October 30, 2015 Promotions Cpl. Rebecca Allese Cpl. Garland Collins Sgt. Jason Zakowich Cpl. Dustin Paille Cpl. Paul Dempster Sgt.
