with a wire embedded,
programmed by PPI Staff.
With the wave of your Android
phone, you can view a video
showcasing the top entries
of this year’s PrintROCKS.
After the show it will take you
to event photos and other
information.
If you own an Apple device,
you’ll have to scan the QR code
to get to the same place. (NFC
technology for Apple phones
6 and later will hopefully be
unlocked soon!)

In 2016 ink on paper is not only alive & well, but lookin’ FINE! It’s a SUPER
time to be part of print in the PPI region. Congratulations to everyone in
Alaska, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington who entered
this year’s competition. It’s clear that technology meets craft in today’s
graphic and visual communication businesses.
This year’s theme was all about the amazing powers Print and those
who work within the industry possess. You all endure, thrive and grow
despite mounting challenges. Marketing was once thought doomed
to only electronic channels… But, no! Print is finding a renaissance
as the breakthrough medium which integrates digital presence with
explosive, colorful delivery. This is evident time and again in labels and
packaging that POP, whiz-bang point of sale applications, kaBOOM direct
mail engagements, multi-sensory collateral with a punch … the list of
superpowers gets stronger by the day!
What are your company’s superpowers? Do you fully engage them?
Do your employees share in them, delivering truth, justice and effective
projects to your adoring customers of today and tomorrow? Clearly this

The Jordan Brand Design 2014 | 2015 book brings a
‘timeless brilliance’ to the past, present and future,
all delivered in an epic fashion through print. The
integration of photography and illustrations are
elevated by using a variety of stocks, with the colors
jumping off the page. The application of spectacular
specialty finishing techniques thoughtfully executed
inside and out is a perfect compliment to #23. The
large format of the book along with ink coverages,
cross-overs and perfectly bound lay-flat assembly
elevates this piece into flight.
Nike’s Jordan catalog is a testament to what you can design, print and produce
with a carte blanche budget and top shelf quality. This oversized piece told the
story of a lifestyle brand through luxurious spreads and meticulously executed
printing. As a designer, I was not-so-secretly coveting the entry and wishing
I could walk off with one for my personal library of ‘great design specimens’.

PPI is pleased to announce the 2016 Premier Print Award Winners who were
submitted from their wins in the 2015 PrintROCKS! Awards. 52 submissions
were awarded with 19 organizations recognized for their stellar work.
Our region’s strong showing reinforces the tremendous work done by the
greater print community in the six states we serve. An added bonus for the
2015 PrintROCKS! winners is that PPI saved them over $13,000 collectively
in processing time, shipping and entry fees.

This year the Premier Print Awards GALA will be held in Orlando, Florida on
Sunday, September 25 in conjunction with GraphExpo.
All 2016 PrintROCKS! award winners will be submitted for consideration in the
