Starting 2016, a new “Pharma Waste” section
will present solutions for the management
and disposal of pharmaceutical waste.
In 2016, the Union of Italian Manufacturers
of Packaging Machinery (UCIMA) will
become an organising partner of the event.
Besides enriching the program of the
conferences, UCIMA brings with it the
involvement of the packaging machines
and materials sector.
The task of examining specific themes more
closely is entrusted to Pharmintech
Observatory, a jewel in the crown for the
sector, established with the support of the
most authoritative pharmaceutical
associations, and a source of high-quality
information.

In the pharmaceutical sector, this can only
be achieved by drawing on an enormous
quantity of data, which the companies must
store for many years: at Pharmintech 2016,
this issue will be addressed by exploring the
numerous solutions developed to ensure
data security and traceability.
The international Drug Anti-Counterfeiting
Conference: a worldwide network of
collaboration and improvement, established
with ISPE Italy Affiliate and PDA Italy
Chapter in April 2013, was followed in 2015
by the conference on Serialization and
Goods Distribution Practices: regulatory
impacts, opportunities and critical issues for
pharmaceuticals manufacturers and
distribution chains. A synthesis of the
themes addressed will be made in 2016,
during the Pharmintech opening period,
when the opportunities and criticalities
associated with serialization and GDP will
be examined by all the players involved in
the supply chain, from the manufacturers to
the pharmacies.
