KIRKMAN’S KAMP
A DAY WITH KIRKMAN’S KAMP - SOUTH AFRICA
Fly to Kruger National Park via Johannesburg. On arrival at the airport you will be transferred to the Kirkman’s
Kamp, situated in the Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve, one of the richest game areas in the world.
Morning Game Drive – A typical day on safari starts around 5.30am with a tea/coffee before sunrise, then you
will set out into the bush on a safari jeep with your ranger and tracker, who will hopefully provide an
encounter with the Big 5.
Breakfast – After your morning’s game drive you return to the lodge where a hearty breakfast awaits you.
Enjoy platters of fruit and cheese followed by a selection of hot breakfast dishes. Choose from eggs, oats,
waffles or a number of other options. Spend the rest of morning relaxing and unwind by the pool.
Lunch - If you wish, you can walk off your breakfast on a short walk near the camp, accompanied by your
ranger, who will share his insight into the smaller animals and vegetation in the area. Lunch is served on open
air decks within sight of the river.
Afternoon Tea – Cool off with a refreshing dip in the pool, hitting the gym or catching up on some sleep.
Over a late afternoon tea, your ranger will discuss what you hope to see during the afternoon game drive.
Evening Game Drive – This game drive begins in the late afternoon and lasts until after dark when spotlights
are used for a glimpse into the nocturnal bush life. Track spotted hyena as they call to each other on an
evening hunt or spot the beautifully patterned civet cat. Enjoy sun downers in a scenic location as the sun
slowly sinks beneath the horizon to toast a perfect day.
Dinner - Return to Kirkman's for a mouthwatering dinner around a blazing fire in the boma with newfound
friends. Linger over coffee and dessert, sharing memories of the day gone by.

ACTIVITIES INCLUDED
Twice daily game drives
Early morning and late afternoon / evening game drives in an open 4x4 safari vehicle traverse an area of
15,500 acres. Set out to track the Big Five, as well as a rich variety of other game, in the company of your
ranger and tracker. Strict vehicle limits at animal sightings ensure the exclusivity of your wildlife experience
and careful off-road driving positions you for the best photo opportunities. Rangers are constantly in touch
with each other to help keep track of game and the sensitive approach methods used mean that the wildlife
has become accustomed to the presence of vehicles.
Interpretive bush walks
In between game drives, take a leisurely walk within easy reach of your lodge and experience the sights,
smells and sounds of the African bush. An armed ranger will accompany you and will share his vast
knowledge of the local fauna and flora. Enjoy the intimate details of your surroundings, from the intricate
patterns of a spider's web to the bright plumage of the local birds and the sharp alarms calls of a dozen small
creatures.
ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES (NOT INCLUSIVE)
Tailor-made Photographic Safaris
FROM R 6,500 PER PERSON SHARING
Nothing captures the imagination and soul like a magnificent close-up picture of one of Africa’s wild
beasts. If it’s the ultimate image you are after when on safari, you should consider investing in a
photographic safari where trained rangers, trackers and photographers themselves will help you to turn
your photos into works of art.
Tailor-made photographic safaris are led by an expert ranger specialising in photography, who will help
guests get the wildlife shot of a lifetime by providing advice on shutter speed, lenses, filters, angles and
lighting. The use of a private safari vehicle allows guests to target specific species and to spend as much
time as desired on their photography.
