Juried Art & Literary Competition,
taking place at the Agricultural
& Industrial Museum, 217 West
Princess Street (adjacent to
the south entrance of Festival
Marketplace).

Jurying Information
A $25.00 non-refundable jury
fee must be enclosed with all
applications from new artists.
Artists who participated in Yorkfest
last year are exempt from the
fee. Participation is limited to
100 exhibitors chosen by an
independent panel of talented,
high-quality 2-D and 3-D artists.
Exhibitor Standards
All work must be original and
created by exhibitor or artist. Prints
or reproductions of artist work
are acceptable. Artists may only
show work in the categories they
were juried into, or accepted in.
Decisions of jurors are final. Fine
art work and fine craft work in the
following media are acceptable:
painting, drawing, sculpture,
printmaking, photography, mixed
media, clay, glass, fiber, wood,
metal, paper, and jewelry. Please
submit a jury fee for each category
submitted.
Application Deadline
Applications for jurying must be
submitted by May 13, 2016. All
applicants will be notified of status
by June 3, 2016.
Digital Images
Artists who are new to Yorkfest and
desire to obtain a site location must
submit an image of booth display
and three images representative
of the work that will be executed
and sold, along with a completed
application form. Images may
be emailed, supplied on a CD,
or submitted via Zapplication.
Accepted exhibitors from last year’s
Yorkfest do not need to submit
images or the jury fee.
Cash Prizes
Cash prizes will be awarded by
an independent juror to festival
sales artists based on their overall
works displayed in their booth.
Prizes include Best in Show, Award
of Excellence, Best New Artist,
and six Awards of Distinction.
A People’s Choice Award will
be chosen via votes from festival
attendees. All artists in the festival
are eligible to win.
Booth Sites
Sites are approximately 15 feet
wide by 10 feet deep. A limited
number of double spaces are
available. No electricity is
provided. Exhibitors should be
prepared to adapt to outdoor
exhibiting and for inclement
weather. Yorkfest is open rain or
shine. Artists must provide their
own display materials. Booths
may be occupied by more than
one artist, as long as both artists
are juried. Booth spaces in the
Colonial Courthouse Courtyard
and along the Rail/Trail are on
grass. Booth spaces along Pershing
Avenue are on concrete.
Artists are encouraged to set up on
Friday, August 26, during the hours
of 12 noon to 5 p.m.
Security
A security patrol will be provided
by Yorkfest for the nights of Friday,
August 26, and Saturday,
August 27, 2016. However, the
Committee and the City of York
assume no responsibility for
transactions or accidents at this
event. Each entrant assumes
complete responsibility for
installing, protecting, handling,
selling, and removing all exhibits.

About Yorkfest
Created decades ago by area artists who wanted to display their work along
the Codorus Creek in historic Downtown York, Yorkfest now showcases the
works of 100 artists from around the country to affluent art lovers from
Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Central Pennsylvania. Our show features advance
show advertising and a continental exhibitor breakfast included in booth fee.
