A CALL FOR MUSICAL PROJECTS
Every year, the CIMN (International Centre for Nomad Musics) launches a call
for projects to enable young artists and musicians to carry out their first
musical creation under professionnal conditions.
Once the selection procedure completed, the selected projects will be
supported and presented during the 7th edition of the festival « Les Détours
de Babel » that will take place in Grenoble and the Isère department, From
March 18th to April 8th, 2017.
SELECTION CRITERIA
The jury will focus on the following criteria :

Music must be the centerpiece of the project whether it is written, improvised,
acoustic, amplified, electroacoustic, or a sound performance, and can be
associated to other artistic forms such as dance, visual arts or multimedia …
The submitted projects must be either original pieces or projects that have
not been performed yet.
The artists or musicians must be in their early professionnal carreer
The project must illustrate in any way the 2017 theme : « Mythes et
légendes »
THE SELECTION PROCEDURE

In october 2016, the jury will select several projects among the admissible
ones
The deliberations of the jury will be confidential and won’t be communicated
The selected projects will be offered support for production (logistics, service,
technical or artistic support … within the limits of the financial enveloppe set
by the CIMN)
Contract specifications in terms of achievement will be jointly established
before any final agreement.
THE RULES FOR PARTICIPATION
The candidates must take into account the following rules for participation :

HOW TO APPLY
The application form must be sent by email in a single download link to the
following eaddress : [email protected] no later than september
18th, 2016 at midnight.
Incomplete files or files received after the deadlines won’t be considered.
The artists with a qualified project will received by email a confirmation of their
application.
• The application file must include :
- a note explaining the llink with the theme
- a project description (line up, construction …)
- a short biography of each musician involved in the project
- a description of your needs (recording studio, stage rehearsal, technical
requirements …)

• a photography of the artist and illustrating the project
• 3 or 4 audio or video samples of previous projects (MP3 or MP4)
