Changing Education
for the Glory of God
How students learn determines what they learn. At Alpha Omega Publications, we recognize that
today’s students are digital natives, navigating the electronic world in which they are immersed.
That’s why we created Ignitia, an Internet-driven learning management system featuring Biblebased courses developed exclusively for students enrolled in Christian schools. For these students,
technology is not just a tool; it is the foundation on which they frame their perspective, their day,
and their future. To successfully reach and teach students, Christian educators must meet them on
their level and spark a passion for learning with courses relevant to their world.
Empowering Students
Empowering Educators
We know the digital language. We understand that teaching
online courses to elementary, middle, and high school
students means more than just providing information.
Our innovative curriculum development team has created
state-of-the-art, media-rich core and elective courses that
utilize 21st century technology to meet your students’
unique needs. Unlike any other Christian curriculum, Ignitia is
dynamic and flexible. Bible-centered content is infused with
hands-on, interactive elements to offer a multi-dimensional
approach to learning that integrates a Christian worldview
and supports digital literacy.
We recognize that every student and every class is unique.
Some students excel in traditional learning environments while
others require an alternative to find a path to success. Different
learning styles require distinct instructional approaches. Ignitia
provides eLearning solutions for Christian schools. Teachers
can present powerful, Internet-based courses as provided,
or they can customize units and lessons to accommodate
individualized learning plans, provide remedial work, and
challenge advanced students. Streamlined administrative tasks
allow educators more time to focus on students and share
Christ.
When students and educators connect,
learning happens.

Revolutionizing the way education happens for Christian
students, Ignitia offers the core subjects of Bible, history and

and facilitates data management.
To provide schools even more options, AOP has an accredited
K-12 distance learning program through Alpha Omega

additional grade levels, and greater opportunities to stay on
track for on-time graduation.

education for the glory of God.
Statement of Faith
»»
We believe that both the Old and New Testaments are the inspired Word of
God, revealing the three Persons of the Godhead: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
»»
We believe in the incarnation and virgin birth of our Lord
and Savior Jesus Christ as true God and true man.
»»
We believe that man was created in God’s image
but is separated from God by sin.
»»
We believe that man is redeemed by grace through faith in Christ’s
vicarious atonement for sins, the shedding of His blood on the cross.
»»
We believe that the gift of eternal life is available to all men,
that those who receive Christ by faith are regenerated by
the Holy Spirit and thereby become children of God.
»»
We believe in the bodily resurrection of Christ, His imminent
return, and the resurrection of His people.
“Several years ago we began to look for a core curriculum that
offered a high academic content while maintaining a strong
Christian perspective. It was our objective to raise our students’
national standardized test scores in every subject. Since switching
to AOP we have seen a very positive progression. Scores are up
and parents are happy.”

Promote digital literacy. As the use of technology as a vehicle
for delivering content grows, Christian schools are increasingly
integrating online courses into their learning programs. With
Ignitia, there is no need to build courses from the ground up.
Teachers can supplement their face-to-face courses with
lessons, assignments, and other content directly from Ignitia
courses. It's an easy way to introduce your students to online
learning and promote 21st century skills.
Meet all your students’ needs. Today’s students come from
diverse backgrounds and bring a variety of unique challenges to
the classroom. Some may need additional time to understand
complex concepts, while others may require an environment
sensitive to special situations. With Ignitia, these students can
work at their own pace or in their own space with an Internetbased curriculum that’s always available.

students have the learning space they need to grow and thrive.
Our courses can be paced and customized with additional

Help Students Go Further with Dual Enrollment
As Christian educators, you face many challenges in providing a quality Christ-centered education that
offers the options necessary to meet the needs of a diverse group of students. You want to provide
specialized teachers to handle electives and high school courses that will expand your reach. It may
be more feasible than you realize.
Dual enrollment through Alpha Omega Academy is one way to
affordably meet these goals. Through this program, students
can be enrolled in an accredited distance learning institution

adding extra teachers or paying high administrative costs.
The academy’s partner schools have access to experienced
distance learning teachers, a variety of courses available

progress records, and full-time or part-time enrollment options.
Alpha Omega Academy acts as an extension of your school

Building a Firm Foundation on the Bible
While core Ignitia courses help students develop a solid Christian worldview through the use of Scripture verses (KJV) and
biblical doctrine infused into lesson content, Bible courses are focused on the study of the Old and New Testaments through
the exploration of theology, God’s attributes, biblical literature, biblical geography, Christian evidences, and Christian growth.
Ignitia Bible courses ensure students understand the authority of God in His creation and His grand design revealed
throughout the history of mankind. Students learn how to apply biblical principles in daily life, too, as they explore both
simple and complex issues in today’s world.
Global Perspectives in History and Geography
With Ignitia students explore the world without leaving their computers. These courses develop students’ understanding of
and appreciation for God’s activity as seen in the record of man and his relationships. Students also investigate the ways
humans make history, influence development, and affect the natural world. Historical events can be experienced online
through the use of personal and primary sources that allow students to consider how human actions influence the world’s
events. Because courses are delivered online, current and history-making events can be integrated into lessons in real
time, keeping the content current and relevant. Throughout this comprehensive discipline, students will study world and
American geography, world, American, and religious history, government and citizenship, economics, and social studies.
Spelling Out Language Arts
Developing and integrating fluent communication skills is essential for 21st century learners. Through the use of
audio and video clips, slide shows, and presentations, Ignitia demonstrates concrete examples of the intricacies
of the English language. From reading and writing to listening and speaking, students in grades 3-12 focus on
vocabulary, spelling, grammar, and composition to become effective and fluent in communication. The curriculum
includes a comprehensive study of classic and modern literary works, the Bible as literature, book reports, research
skills, as well as an analysis of numerous genres.
Online Math Courses That Add Up
With a focus on understanding math as a life skill, Ignitia uses real-world applications and engaging multimedia elements
to engage students and clarify mathematical concepts from a biblical perspective. Covering themes such as algebra,
geometry, measurements, number skills, statistics, and probability, math lessons for grades 3-12 build upon previous units
to reinforce concepts and ensure progressive mastery of math skills. All courses allow students to develop critical thinking
skills and explore how mathematical principles relate to God’s world. Step-by-step explanations, various question formats,
multiple exercise techniques, and fun learning games are included throughout lessons to encourage student success.

Essential Elements for Scientific Discovery
Students unearth the workings of the physical universe and develop observation skills of God’s creation with Ignitia.
With engaging, hands-on lessons for grades 3-12, Ignitia is the ideal formula for learning about science with multimedia
elements that demonstrate lab experiments, illustrate intricate concepts, and ignite a passion for science that is built on a
Christian worldview. Students enrolled in this comprehensive curriculum will study life science (plants and animals, human
anatomy and personal care, biology), space and earth science (geology, weather, space), physical science (chemistry,
physics), and the nature of science (scientific method, experimentation, technology).
Beyond the Basics
In addition to rigorous, interactive core courses, Ignitia offers targeted solutions and exciting
Bible-based electives that meet the individual academic needs of specific students.
Enriching Electives
Today’s students need an education that covers more than just the basics. Colleges and employers are looking for
well-rounded graduates whose coursework and experience are not limited to core classes. Featuring a wide variety of
electives, Ignitia offers your Christian school more choices for more learning. Ignitia’s electives deliver essential instruction
to accommodate individual learning styles and offer a breadth of electives students need to graduate and meet college
acceptance requirements.
Placement Testing
“ Education is not the
filling of a pail, but the
lighting of a fire.”
William Butler Yeats
With placement testing, teachers can establish a correlation between the student’s
knowledge and skills base and the requirements needed to master each level of Ignitia
content. Testing also identifies learning gaps and areas in which additional instruction
is necessary for progress. In addition, ongoing assessment is an integral part of
the Ignitia curriculum. By continually evaluating student progress with helpful
tools, teachers can identify obstacles and prescribe solutions that help students
learn. Placement testing is available for students in grades 3-12 in the subjects
of history and geography, language arts/English, Bible, math, and science.
GED Preparatory and Career and Technical Education Options
Ignitia’s GED Preparatory courses offer an online solution for students who have
not completed high school and would like to obtain high school equivalency
certification. Concepts are explained and demonstrated through the use of
interactive, multimedia elements for higher student retention, leading
to more successful GED testing. GED prep courses are high
school electives available in history and geography,
language arts/English, math, and science. Prepping
students for the real world, CTE courses build
workplace skills in the areas of office applications,
entrepreneurship, and
business technology.

Supporting Firm Foundations
for Today’s Christian Youth
From rural communities to urban neighborhoods, parents disenchanted with the state of the public
education system are looking for alternatives that provide rigorous faith-based instruction to help
them prepare their children for a bright future.
Although this future is yet to be fully revealed, one thing is
sure – students will need more than the basics to rise to the
top. While a firm foundation in core subject areas is essential,
digital literacy is increasingly important. In fact, essential 21st
century skills include creativity and innovation, information
literacy, critical thinking, flexibility, self direction, digital
citizenship, and global awareness.
In addition, the secular influences inherent in today’s
educational environment can lead students away from their
faith and leave them spiritually unprepared to face life’s
challenges with a Christian worldview.
At AOP, we understand that building and maintaining Christian
schools is more challenging than any time in recent history. We
also understand that providing faith-based options for Christian
families has never been more important.

Q:
Does Ignitia include tools for student management
that assist teachers with lesson planning, grading,
and recordkeeping?
A:
Yes. When schools implement Ignitia, teachers get
more hands-on time with students and spend less
time grading papers and planning lessons. Through the use
of a customizable calendar, assessment tools, and other
powerful administrative applications, the large majority of
lessons are automatically assigned and graded. With Ignitia,
teachers then have more time to review student progress and
provide the necessary adjustments and attention to individual
student needs.

Q:
A:
What type of multimedia is
included in Ignitia?
Q:
A:
Are there tools to ensure appropriate grade level
placement for students within the Ignitia curriculum?
Q:
A:
With Ignitia, do teachers have the ability to modify
and individualize lessons for students?
Ignitia was designed for hands-on interaction through
clickable media elements. Created to give a truly multidimensional learning experience, Ignitia is infused with over
50,000 media including video clips, digital tutors, slide shows,
animation, dynamic learning games, historical timelines,
optional web links, and hands-on exercises that bring learning
to life.
Yes. Using Ignitia’s placement testing and diagnostic
analysis, teachers receive a “snapshot” of students’
abilities, strengths, and weaknesses, especially in the skill
areas of math and language arts. These insights help educators
accurately place students at the grade level necessary for
maximum success. Placement tests are available for students
in grades 3-12 in the subject areas of Bible, history and
geography, language arts/English, math, and science.
Absolutely. Ignitia is fully customizable, allowing teachers
to mix and match lessons and content to meet an
individual student’s needs. The flexible customization feature
of Ignitia makes it easy to accommodate the individualized
learning plans of any student, including those in special
and alternative programs. Teachers also have the power to
block quizzes and tests or add original content like graphics,
personally written lessons, and websites to customize
their own Ignitia course and fit the needs of their class or
individual students.
Q:
A:
Can teachers control the pace at which students work
through the Ignitia curriculum?
Definitely! Using a mastery-based model, Ignitia allows
teachers to set a threshold for each lesson that students
must meet or exceed before moving forward with subsequent
lessons. Since most lessons are graded automatically, students
who reach or exceed the threshold can progress sequentially
with successful completion, while others can revisit the lesson
for remediation if needed. Students who require remediation
are provided multiple attempts to work through instruction,
answer questions, and solve problems. With this “focused
learning” feature, students continue working until they master
the material and receive a specific percentage score. As a
measure of control, teachers are able to set roadblocks at
their discretion, preventing students from moving forward or
beginning a test on their own.
Q:
A:
Does Ignitia have an
assessment component?
Q:
A:
Are printable versions of each Ignitia lesson
available? Are any projects off-computer?
Q:
A:
Does Ignitia have technology that assists
students in reading?
Yes. Throughout multiple units in each Ignitia course,
quizzes, projects, and a comprehensive test are delivered
to assess student performance. Assessment tools are directly
tied to unit concepts and skills. Not only does this save valuable
time for teachers, but it also allows quick identification of
potential areas of concern or learning gaps.
Yes. All lessons in the Ignitia delivery system can be
printed directly from the screen. This allows students to
work either at or away from the computer. In addition, many
Ignitia projects, activities, book reports, and experiments are
designed to be completed off the computer.
Yes. We’re committed to delivering curriculum to all
students, no matter what challenges they may face.
Ignitia’s text-to-speech tool is a valuable innovation that
allows students to highlight specific text, choose a voice, and
have text read aloud to them by the computer, facilitating
individualized learning. This is a wonderful feature for
improving vocabulary, helping ELL students, and
easing the reading of passages on the computer.
Text translation is also available for eight world
languages, including Spanish, French, German,
and more.
