Watch out for the free music events when Beatfest animates the foyer and stay up to date with the line-ups for the comedy versus cabaret battle in Click...Click...Boom. This summer the Circus is ablaze with incredible work for children, families and young people. Two hot picks include a Stomp for the younger set - Echoa is a percussive and energetic dance work by Arcosm Company. We saw the French artists perform in Edinburgh and were so impressed we brought them to Stratford! The second is an inventive adaptation of the classic story Treasure Island from one of Scotland’s leading companies, Wee Stories, set to live music and aimed at older children (8+). In April we were delighted to welcome in-residence, the UK’s leading German Wheel artists, Acrojou Circus Theatre. Jeni and Barney are working with Stratford Circus and our audiences to develop a brand new piece of circus for schools, children, families and young people. You can see and hear more about their work on our website. It’s your cultural life in Stratford, east London! We are glad to be part of it! She vowed to never use Elizabethan England as a setting and never to write about real historical figures. And so The Fool’s Girl opens in London 1601 with two characters just about to make the acquaintance of one William Shakespeare. Whilst watching an open air performance of Twelfth Night (her favourite Shakespearean comedy), Celia found herself asking what happens next? What if the couples weren’t entirely satisfied with each other? What if the troublesome characters came back? The idea was born and so began the plan to tell the tale of Illyria after Twelfth Night ends. Literature Booking: 0844 357 2625 A Woman’s Perspective An evening dedicated to a woman’s perspective.
