For more information, visit www.vbmb.org/CM. *CM is Virginia Baptists’ long-standing commitment to the Cooperative Program. For more information, visit www.vbmb.org/CM. As directed by your church, the BGAV uses Cooperative Missions gifts to support missions and ministries in Virginia, throughout the United States, and around the world in partnership with SBC, CBF, BWA, and others. Your church gives a portion of the tithes and offerings it receives to Cooperative Missions. You give your tithes and offerings to your church. Where does our Cooperative Missions money actually go? Cooperative Missions helps you take the message and ministry of Jesus to the ends of the earth. The Cooperative Missions portion of your church’s budget enables your church to be a part of ministries beyond your own walls and community. It is a way for churches to support all their mission causes with one gift because your Cooperative Missions dollars are shared by state, national, and international ministries. Each church decides how much they will send to Cooperative Missions and directs the BGAV how to distribute the World Missions portion of their gifts by choosing one of the Cooperative Missions giving plans (WM1, WM2, WM3) or by adopting their own customized plan. What is Cooperative Missions?* This fiscal year begins January 1 and ends December 31. …through Cooperative Missions. Partnering with Christians around the globe to be the presence of Christ in our world. Responding in Jesus’ name to bring relief and hope to victims of disaster. Reaching the next generation for Christ, involving them in missions, and nurturing them as they grow into future church leaders. Planting churches in new places and new contexts in order to bring the gospel to those who have never heard it. Virginia Baptists are On Mission... Cooperative Missions giving supports our efforts to be the body of Christ in our world. Your Giving Keeps On Giving Cooperative Missions Kingdom Advance is the vision for Virginia Baptists to fulfill our call to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. What is the fiscal year for the Baptist General Association of Virginia (BGAV)? Yes! The remittance form allows your church to distribute your Cooperative Missions dollars among one plan or multiple plans. The choice is yours. Can my church support more than one Cooperative Missions giving plan? Yes! Definitely. Each church’s remittance form has a special block for this purpose. Can my church make a special gift to Kingdom Advance? Yes! If your church supports the Virginia Missions and Ministries portion of the budget, you are supporting Kingdom Advance. In addition, churches choosing the WM2 giving plan will be contributing 20.5% of their World Missions dollars to support Kingdom Advance New Mission Initiatives. Can my church support Cooperative Missions and Kingdom Advance? Virginia Baptists are On Mission through Kingdom Advance 2009 Baptist General Association of Virginia BGAV Budget Recommendations 1.
