All To Us
Ministry
Welcome
Jesus is King and we are to
worship Him, on His terms.
We worship Him for who He is,
not for who we want Him to be.
We bow before Him because He
is Lord, not because we want Him
to do something for us.
True worship yields control to the
King.

Highlight
Our Sympathy to the family of Newt Whittington, who went home to be with the Lord
Tuesday, May 3, 2011. Memorial Service is Monday, May 23 at 11:00am.
Thank you from Elsie Hatch for the overwhelming expressions of love through visits,
cards, flowers and prayers during her recent surgery and recuperation.
Eyeglasses needed. Beginning today, the Uganda medical short term mission
team will be collecting used eye glasses to distribute later this summer at the medical clinic
hosted by Kampala Baptist Church. This is an opportunity to put your old glasses to good
use. Simply place them in the container at the Global Missions table in the Atrium Foyer.
Giving Tree. The first three Sundays in June will feature our spring/summer food drive
to help stock the shelves of local missions and ministries throughout the Detroit Metro area.
Mentoring Moms. All new for moms with children age 6 and above are invited to
Involved
Kids Camp 2011
Help us celebrate Summer by working
this year at Kids Camp! Our Beach
Bash will be held here at the church,
June 22—26 from 9am—12 noon
each day. Leadership is in place, but
we need many more volunteers to
make this a successful week of Good
News outreach to children and their
families. Stop by the sign-up table in
the Atrium Foyer today and find out
how you can be involved. Child
registration begins soon.
Summer Sundays
6:00pm
Ministry
With summer right around the corner,
we are in need of Kid City summer
volunteers for Sunday mornings in
July and August. Sign up today at
the registration tables in two locations,
the Main Street hallway and upstairs
at The El.
join us for a discussion on the topic of "Our Role as Moms". We’ll meet this Wednesday,
from 7:00—8:30pm in Room 36. Kids clubs are available.
MOTS. Moms of children from birth—age 6 are invited to join us for a fun morning of
relaxation, fellowship, and teaching. Come in time for snacks and breakfast treats this
Thursday, May 19, in Fellowship Hall at 9:15am. Childcare is provided.
Pray for Mark & Pauline Nelson, as they serve at J.A.A.R.S. in North
Carolina. They are thankful for jobs that make a difference in the Bible translation task
around the world, and for good things happening at their church in Lancaster. Pray for
good computer support for all the faithful translators around the world and for safety and
protection for those working in war-torn areas. Pray for Loren as he considers joining
Mark’s team, and for good planning and preparation as Mark & Pauline hope to take some
time this year to visit with prayer and financial partners.
Pray for Don & Esther Parsons, serving with SEND International, at the
headquarters here in Farmington. Pray for them next month as they host a Guatemalan
family who works with SEND in Spain. Also, Don will be traveling to Germany to participate
in the SEND Eurasia Family Conference June 9—14, and then the following week will travel
to Kazakhstan to participate in a training module. Pray for traveling mercies for Don and for
Esther as she cares for her family at home.

2WordStory.com
Every story has a before and an after.
Please go to this website, and listen to
some of the real stories. Then consider
your own story. Pray this week that
God will give you the opportunity to be a
Witness—to tell your story of the difference
Jesus Christ has made in your life.
Invite people who do not know Christ yet,
to visit the 2wordstory.com website. By
sharing Christ with others you can help
others to write their story of hope,
redemption, and renewal.
Work Projects Needed
Our High School Southfield Missions Team
is looking for work projects to be done in
the afternoons during Kids Camp week,
June 22—26.
We would like to serve those in our church
community and those connected to our
church family—with some larger duty jobs
if possible.
If you, or someone you know is in need of
help with a project that would otherwise be
a difficulty, please contact Sara, ext. 289.
