Summer Fun Days are HERE!!!
You don’t want to miss our Summer Fun Days! Next week’s
Summer Fun Day will be moved to Wednesday night, August 3.
We’ll be traveling down to North Kansas City for an evening of
extreme fun at Power Play. The cost per person to participate
is $30, that includes 3 hours of unlimited attractions (laser tag,
laser maze and more), 20 tokens, and unlimited pizza buffet.
We’ll meet at the church at 4 PM sharp, don’t be late!
(Summer Fun days locations will change week to week, check the
website calendar for weekly details and updates! Some events
may require a fee to participate.)
Missions Committee - Breadboxes for World Hunger
The Missions Committee will be handing out the little “Bread
Boxes” today to all those who would like to participate. Put
your spare change in them over the next 4 weeks and ALL
money collected will go to World Hunger through the
cooperative program. The bread boxes will be picked up
Sunday, August 28.

Children’s Summer
If you’re a mom, with children 5 years old and younger, and
would like to meet with other mom’s for fellowship and fun, join
us during the month of August for Mom’s and Munchkins play
group. We’ll be meeting on August 2, 16 and 30. We meet in
the toddler room behind the children’s check-in desk. Stay
tuned for a possible field trip on the August 30!
The Tuesday Morning Ladies Bible Study will conclude our
current study on August 2, 2016. We’ll take the rest of August
off and will resume in September with Theresa Anderson
leading. Stay tuned for the upcoming study and the new start
date!
Wednesday Night Prayer Meeting
Wednesday night prayer meeting is coming back! We’ll begin
meeting this Wednesday, August 3. Everyone is welcome to
attend. 6-7:00 PM in room #5.
Men’s Conference
SAVE THE DATE! Main Event Men’s Conference, FBC Raytown,
August 26-27 - Cost - $69. It’s T-Minus 27 days until you get
to hear from Godly men like T.C. Stallings and Johnny Hunt and

afternoon of games, food, music & fellowship!
Soles for Christ
The Missions Committee is inviting GVBC to join in the Soles for
Christ shoe program. Soles for Christ started as an outreach
project to provide a new pair of shoes for children in need and
in turn boost the children’s self-esteem and enthusiasm for the
coming school year. The AFL-CIO gave away 1,179 pairs or
shoes last year. They are asking for NEW TENNIS SHOES in
toddler sizes 5-10, youth sizes 11-6, and ALL adult sizes.
Monetary donations are also welcome and will be used to
purchase for those they aren’t able to fit on the day of the
giveaway. Volunteers are also needed to help with the
program. Tennis shoe donations need be dropped off by
Monday, August 1, in the labeled boxes under the coat racks.
