November 2, 2011
The November meeting of the Association will be held on Wednesday November 2nd. The call to
order is scheduled for 8:00PM. A
50/50 raffle and refreshments will
follow the meeting.
2011 Trap Championship
Sunday November 13th

Boy Scouts at Club
November 4, 5, 6
Ranges Closed
The Boy Scouts will be at the club
from 3:00PM on Friday November 4 to Sunday morning November 6. The shooting ranges will be
closed (except for scout trap
shooting) during their camping
weekend. Ranges re-open at noon
on Sunday.
Trap committee chairperson Bill
Hawley has announced that the
2011 Trap Championship will be
held on Sunday November 13.
Start time is 1:00PM. The event
will be seventy-five targets at 16
yards. Here’s your chance for
H.S.A. fame and glory. With the
recent interest in trap at the club
were are hoping for a good turn
out. Come on out to the trap field
on the 13th and turn clays to dust.
National Gallery Match
November 8th
Lucky Bird Turkey
Trap Shoot
A National Gallery Match for
H.S.A. members will be held at
the club on Tuesday November
8th. Shooters choice of 30, 60,
or 90 shots. The event provides
a chance to get out of the house
and fire your .22 caliber pistol or
revolver. Slow, timed and rapid
stages on the B2 and B3 targets.
Win a Turkey! The Trap Committee is hosting a “Lucky Bird”
Turkey Shoot on Saturday November 19. Ten lucky shooters
will win a turkey just in time for
the Thanksgiving holiday. If your
lucky and get a white target, and
break it the Committee will give
you the bird!

Eligibility:
The tournament is open to all club members, and their immediate family members.
Fees:
None
Waters:
No restrictions. Fish anywhere in the world.
Methods:
No restrictions. All lawful fishing methods are allowed.
Categories:
Trout/Salmon, Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Striped
Bass, and Bluefish.
To Enter:
Take a picture of your catch. Send the picture in to [email protected] or bring it to the clubhouse. Provide the following information:
Fisherman’s name, Species, Length, Date of Catch, Location (general) of
Catch, Method used. All entries must be received no later than Wednesday
January 4, 2012.
Awards:
Biggest fish in each category - fisherman’s name engraved on
the perpetual Big Fish Tournament Trophy on display in the clubhouse trophy
case.Gold, Silver, and Bronze fish pins awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place
winners in each category.

October 9, 2011 was a great day for
the H.S.A. Archery Championship.
Bright sun and blue skies prevailed.
The day started out just a little cool,
then warmed up nicely. The thirty
shot course of fire combined field
and 3D targets. The distance to the
targets varied randomly from ten to

effort Len used a Parker Buck-Shot compound bow equipped with an
Apex Gear 3-pin sight and Beman ICS Hunter carbon arrows.

November 2011 Committee Reports
ARBS: No report
Archery: Championship - Archery Championship was held on October 9th. 30 shots ranging from 10 to 30
plus yards. Congratulations to Len Perlmutter, this year's Archery Champion, shooting 259 out of 300 and including 8 10's and 2 10 x's. - Rick W.

Building: Repairs to the roof have been completed and we will be ready for the first snow storm. Doug B.
Firearm Safety Training: Nothing to report. Ed G.
Fishing: Tournament continues - Last two months to get your entries in. - Rich G.

Grounds: No report
Indoor Range: The trap committee has requested the indoor range to be closed on Saturdays from 10:00AM
until 1:00PM to accommodate the Saturday morning trap shooting activity. The B.O.D. will review the request. - Frank M.
Junior Conservation Camp: No report
Junior Rifle: Meeting on Monday nights from 7:00 to 9:00PM. Seven active junior shooters. - Rich G.
Kitchen Committee: We are getting ready for the Holiday party for the next meeting. Donations of food are
appreciated such as appetizers & desserts. For this month hotdogs will be served with the usual donation of
