COMMISSIONS, DISCOUNTS AND
POLICIES
•All local advertising rates are non-commissionable.
•Prepayment is required until a credit application is completed
and credit approved. MasterCard, Visa, American Express & Discover are accepted.
•All accounts are due and payable 30 days from the date of invoice; a service charge of 1-1.5% per month (annual rate is 18%)
will be levied thereafter.
•The publisher reserves the right to change advertising rates
upon 30 days notice; all contracts are accepted subject to this reservation. Contracts are written on bulk space volume.
•A 10% “late charge” ($5.00 minimum) will be levied for ads
accepted past deadlines.
•Accounts more than 90 days in arrears will be denied advertising until their account has been brought up to date.
ADVERTISING DEADLINES
•Display advertising (ROP) deadlines are 5 p.m. two working
days prior to publication.
•Classified display deadlines are 10 a.m. the working day prior
to publication for ads eight inches and larger and now for smaller
ads. Classified line ad deadlines are now on the working day prior
to publication.
•Display ad cancellations must be made prior to 10 a.m. on the
working day prior to publication. Ads cancelled after this deadline
are subject to a composition charge.
•Southwest Iowa Advertiser deadline is 4 p.m. Friday prior to
publication.

CONTRACT, COPY REGULATIONS
•Failure to fulfill terms of an advertising contract will result in
the space used being charged at applicable rate.
•The Creston News Advertiser will not be responsible for any
error in an advertisement except for failure to correct the advertisement as indicated by the advertiser upon proofing. In case
of such error, liability shall be only for the space involved in the
error and in the initial insertion.
•Creston Publishing Company may, in its sole discretion, edit,
classify or reject any copy, illustrations or advertisement, or cancel any advertisement at any time. The right is also reserved to
apply borders to ads or to insert the word “advertisement” in an
ad when warranted.
•All advertisements simulating a news format must carry the
word “advertisement” prominently at the top of the ad.
•Prepayment is required for all political advertising.
•Proofs will be delivered, if requested, for ads measuring 10
column inches and larger. Proofs are for the correction of typographical errors only. Any other changes will constitute reconstruction and be charged at the rate of $1.00 per column inch
($5.00 minimum.)

Inserts for the News Advertiser and Southwest Iowa Advertiser must measure less than 10.75” x 13.25”. If necessary to be
folded for insertion, folding charges at $10.00 per thousand will
be added.
Preprinted inserts should be in our plant at least five days
prior to insertion. Quantity needed for total market coverage is
10,500; for News Advertiser full circulation is 5,000.
Dollars invested in preprint insertion apply toward fulfillment
of ROP linage contracts (dollars/contract rate = inch credit.)
