Technology & Innovation at Ranau, Sabah on 6th July 2013
School Club Innovation Toolkit 2013 has been developed as part
of the Malaysian Government initiative to drive and foster a culture
of Creative and Innovative thinking methodology amongst
students in Malaysia that will eventually grow to become future
leaders. The module contains a set of activity guidelines and
materials that can be used by existing school clubs to implement
the program in an innovative, educational and fun way.
YAYASAN INOVASI MALAYSIA
MALAYSIAN INNOVATION FOUNDATION
MALAYSIAN INNOVATION FOUNDATION (YIM)
evolves with the knowledge and beliefs that children
are naturally creative and inventive. These precious
skill sets are embedded deep within a child’s mind
and through an effective training program can be
induced, nurtured and harness towards greater
heights. The introduction of YIM’s School Club
Innovation Toolkit 2013 and Kids Invent! serves as
part of an innovative training program that aims to stimulate creative thinking
methodology in children, enabling them to apply critical thinking and problem solving
methodology into their daily lives.
The development of the School Club Innovation Toolkit 2013 and Kids Invent! marks yet
another pioneering effort by YIM as part of their integral role to support Malaysian
government initiatives to drive and foster a culture of Creative and Innovative thinking
methodology amongst students that will eventually grow to become future leaders.
INNOVATIVE STUDENTS
THE FUTURE
WE DESIRE
INNOVATING THE FUTURE THROUGH
OUR CHILDREN’S CREATIVE MINDS
A child’s nature is to explore, experiment and discover new things. Their surrounding
environment provides them with an endless array of possibilities and through these
explorations they gain valuable knowledge and most importantly infuse creative and
innovative thinking capability as part of their culture. An ability that most often than not
diminish as children grow. Not only will the activation of the School Club Innovation
Toolkit 2013 help children reactivate these hidden abilities but it also provides an
opportunity for children to foster teamwork, bond and communicate effectively with their
teachers and peers.
The culture of innovation can be nurtured and the nurturing begins with the School Club
Innovation Toolkit 2013.

Toolkit Online Portal:
Becoming Tech Savvy
Realising the significant of technology in our daily lives and how it would
change the way we work, communicate and exchange information, YIM
led by its General Manager, Madam Florence Ki took the initiative to
develop an online portal to facilitate and help conclude the activation of
the School Club Innovation Toolkit 2013 program.
The online portal bearing the address www.innovationclub.my serves as a
communication, idea and report submission platform for both teachers
and students. It enables both parties to perform online feedback
submissions including program reports and YIM Ideation (submission of
innovative ideas from schools).
YIM then moved on to the 2nd phase of the online portal functionality
through the Development of the Online Competition Judging and Report
Generation Platform that perform data extraction for the following
purpose:
• Automated online judging system
• Generating of reports
The system is able to generate results immediately and effectively thus
providing significant input for judges to make informed and accurate
decisions online and the report can be generated in any format desired.

Program
Reports & Feedbacks
http://www.innovationclub.my
Submission of ideas, reports and feedback by participating schools
are done via online from 1st July till 30th September 2013. Teachers
and students need only to log on to www.innovationclub.my and
submit their respective reports and ideas in the most user-friendly,
fast and effective method.
The type of reports required to be submitted online includes;
Student’s feedback form, Teacher’s feedback form, Idea submission
report and Activity report.
Although the program has been duly concluded, YIM still encourages
schools to submit any ideas that they might have. Overall, a total of
19,261 students from 100 schools took part in the program with a
total submission of 3,842 ideas. The result was truly overwhelming
and proves the effectiveness of the School Club Innovation Toolkit
2013 and Kids Invent! program.
